Corn futures volume record
According to the CME Group release, the new record exceeded the previous daily high of 1,128,597 contracts set on March 29, 2019. The company said its agriculture business recorded average daily volume of 2,022,488 contracts in the third quarter, up 18.1% from a year earlier, while September average daily volume reached 1,936,761 contracts, up 28.8%.
Within the Corn complex, third-quarter average daily volume was 502,004 contracts, up 35.2% year over year, and Corn options average daily volume was 179,674 contracts, up 31.4%, the company said in the same release.
