Asset-backed finance fund close
On October 1, 2026, Brookfield Asset Management Ltd announced the final close of Oaktree’s Asset-Backed Finance Fund, known as ABF I. The GlobeNewswire release said the fund and related investment vehicles received $2 billion of commitments, reaching its target fundraise. It added that the fund attracted institutional investors including U.S. public pension plans and sovereign wealth funds.
The release said Oaktree’s asset-backed finance strategy provided flexible capital solutions across equipment leasing, transportation, consumer, real estate and infrastructure. Across its broader asset-backed finance platform, Oaktree had invested more than $19 billion and built relationships with hundreds of third-party originators. Brookfield’s broader asset-based finance platform totaled more than $60 billion, according to the release.
