Growth holds as margins tighten
AB InBev reported organic third-quarter revenue growth of 4.9 percent in results released on October 29, according to Business Wire. Total volumes increased 0.4 percent, with beer volumes down 0.1 percent and non-beer volumes up 4.0 percent. Revenue per hectoliter rose 4.2 percent, supporting growth despite broadly flat beer volumes.
Normalized EBITDA increased 3.9 percent to USD 5.957 billion, while the normalized EBITDA margin contracted by 34 basis points to 36.1 percent. Management attributed the margin pressure to higher sales and marketing investment and commodity cost headwinds, partly offset by overhead discipline.
China remains the main drag
Asia Pacific volumes fell 11.0 percent organically in the quarter, while normalized EBITDA in the region declined 22.4 percent. AB InBev said China was affected by weaker on-premise demand, abnormal weather and inventory management. For the full year, management retained its outlook for EBITDA growth of 4 to 8 percent and net capital expenditure of USD 3.5 billion to USD 4.0 billion.
The company also approved an interim dividend of EUR 0.40 per share. For Euronext, the ex-dividend date is November 19, 2026, the record date is November 20 and payment is scheduled for November 23.
