In a September 30 release distributed by PR Newswire, AbbVie said detailed results from the multiple ascending dose part of its Phase 1 study of investigational ABBV-295 would be presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes annual meeting in Milan. The study included 60 participants randomized to ABBV-295 or placebo.
The release said ABBV-295 showed mean half-lives ranging from 10.7 to 12.3 days and dose-dependent reductions in body weight over 12 to 13 weeks. Least-squares mean reductions ranged from 7.8 percent to 9.8 percent in once-weekly cohorts at Week 12, while the every-other-week and monthly cohorts recorded reductions of 9.7 percent and 7.9 percent, respectively, at Week 13. AbbVie stated that ABBV-295 remains investigational and has not been approved by any health authority.
