XRP's Split Screen: A Patch, a Partnership and a Market in Retreat
Published on 11/06/2026 at 11:51 | Editorial boerse-global.deXRP changed hands at 1.20 USD as a wave of risk aversion rolled out of American technology stocks and into crypto, with leveraged liquidations adding extra force to the downdraft, according to media reports. The move says more about the broader trading climate than about the XRP Ledger itself, where a separate set of developments has been unfolding on a slower clock.
A bug fix, not a price driver
On Wednesday the amendment fixCleanup3_4_0 went live on the XRP Ledger. The package closes a permissions flaw affecting delegated rights for issued tokens: under certain conditions, accounts cleared to burn such tokens could also have created them. Native XRP sat outside the flaw's reach. No exploitation had been confirmed at the time of reporting, media accounts noted.
The technical work runs alongside Ripple's efforts to widen access to the network. New applications and custody offerings broaden what the ledger can be used for, while the patch tightens how permissions are administered — two tracks that serve different purposes.
Privy deal targets builders
Ripple said it has struck a partnership with Privy, the Stripe-owned embedded-wallet provider, to let developers build applications with support for XRP, RLUSD and other assets. The benefit to XRP turns on whether developers actually fold that support into their products — the announced capability is the starting line, not the finish.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?
Institutional access got a lift as well. BNY now supports XRP and RLUSD on its digital-asset custody platform for eligible institutional clients, an expansion Ripple announced on 27 October. The two firms also intend to explore use cases such as tokenized trade finance, a piece that remains firmly in the study phase. That pairs a custody step already in place with applications still under review.
Fund flows tell a choppier story
Demand through US spot XRP ETFs has been uneven. An evaluation of issuer-reported holdings logged net outflows of 64,826 XRP on Wednesday. On 29 October, by contrast, the funds had pulled in net inflows of 8.43 million dollars. For yesterday, one tally showed a net flow of zero — but on only partially available reports, which limits how much weight the figure can carry. Recent readings have also shown weak or absent share creations and redemptions, according to media reports.
Zoom out and the picture shifts again: October brought net inflows of 18.83 million dollars, the seventh straight month of positive money movement for the funds. Those snapshots describe demand for fund shares, a different channel from the Privy partnership and the BNY offering, each of which opens up its own set of uses.
XRP at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
What to watch
Two yardsticks stand out. On the security side, the patch is live — the question now is whether it holds as intended. On the access side, adoption decides how far the announced build-out actually reaches. Near term, the risk-off mood and soft ETF demand pull against the institutional custody win; whether the explored use cases turn into concrete rollouts will determine what comes next.
