XRP's November Unlock and Its ETF Tally Are Two Separate Stories

Ripple's scheduled 1 billion XRP escrow release on 01.11.2026 may net far less if tokens are re-locked; ETF outflows and a bank charter add context.

Ripple's calendar carries a scheduled escrow release of 1 billion XRP on 01.11.2026, a date that will likely draw more attention than it deserves. The gross figure says little on its own, because Ripple typically returns a large slice of any unlock to escrow shortly afterward. Investors who treat the headline number as a supply shock are reading the announcement, not the mechanics.

What Actually Leaves Escrow

Media reports suggest Ripple usually sends 600–800 million XRP back into escrow following releases of this kind. Whether the company follows the same pattern this time has not been confirmed. On that assumption, roughly 200–400 million XRP could land in circulation on a net basis — a possible outcome of standard practice, not a supply change already in motion.

Nor does a larger circulating supply translate automatically into selling pressure. Releasing tokens from a lockup and selling them on the open market are distinct events. The date alone cannot tell anyone how fast the tradeable float will grow.

Three Transfers, No Proof of a Sale

Attention also fell on three large transfers yesterday, when 310 million XRP changed wallets within minutes. A Ripple-linked address sent 120 million XRP to an unknown wallet, while 190 million XRP moved the other way, from unidentified wallets to Ripple. The flows did not run exclusively out of Ripple-controlled addresses, and their purpose remains unconfirmed. Treasury management and internal wallet reshuffling have been floated as possible explanations; a sale has not been established.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?

That distinction matters. Neither the size of a transfer nor the anonymity of a counterparty proves the tokens will reach the market, and nothing links the movements to the upcoming escrow release.

Fund Demand Flips Back to Outflows

On the demand side, the picture reversed again. The five US spot XRP ETFs recorded a combined $496,496 in net outflows yesterday, a day after taking in $8.43 million on Thursday and ending a prior run of redemptions. The inflow, then, did not mark the start of a sustained recovery in fund demand — though one negative session is thin evidence of investors walking away.

Thursday's tally broke down as $5.57 million into Franklin Templeton products and $2.86 million into Bitwise, according to media reports. That movement bears directly on XRP because the products hold the token itself, but its signal value stops at the reported session. A single positive day supports neither a lasting inflow trend nor a reliable price call.

A Bank Charter That Doesn't Touch XRP

The other thread running alongside the ETF data is Ripple's institutional build-out. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted final approval on Monday for the Ripple National Trust Bank, which may administer segregated reserves for RLUSD and act as securities trustee for RLUSD holders, alongside fiduciary custody of digital assets. Those are specific banking and custody functions. The charter creates no new XRP-specific requirement and no additional use of the token, so treating it as evidence of rising XRP demand would stretch well past what has been confirmed. None of this diminishes its importance to Ripple's banking ambitions — it simply caps what XRP holders can infer.

XRP at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

On Wednesday at Swell, CEO Brad Garlinghouse said the company will keep supporting XRP and, according to media reports, described XRP and RLUSD as complementary. That frames the two assets as supplements to one another; it is not an announcement that the newly approved banking duties require XRP.

Two separate measures therefore sit in front of the November unlock: how much XRP remains outside escrow after any re-locking, and whether ETF demand holds up. The announced gross release answers neither question by itself. Execution will matter more than the size of the headline figure.
