XRP ETF Inflows Offset Exchange Supply Fears as Ledger Fix Slips to November
Published on 10/23/2026 at 19:01 | Editorial boerse-global.deA modest day of gains for XRP is masking two competing signals that tell very different stories about where the token might head next. On one side, spot exchange-traded funds in the US are drawing fresh money again. On the other, exchanges are sitting on one of their largest XRP stockpiles of the year.
The token rose 0.2% today, a small rebound following a market-wide pullback that media reports linked to worries over heavy AI spending and weak technology earnings. No XRP-specific regulatory or exchange announcement drove the move.
A Single Inflow Day, Not Yet a Trend
US spot XRP ETFs pulled in a net $3.6 million yesterday, bucking outflows elsewhere in the crypto fund space. The figure marks a positive demand signal, though it follows an interruption in what had been sustained interest — and one trading session is too thin a base to call a renewed inflow streak.
The picture inside the product group is more divided than the headline number suggests. On Wednesday, the funds recorded net inflows of $708,510, with Franklin Templeton's XRPZ taking in $2.25 million while $1.55 million flowed out of Bitwise's fund. That positive total masks offsetting bets within the same category. Before that, the ETFs had logged two consecutive sessions without any money moving at all.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?
Exchange Reserves Near Annual High
CryptoQuant data puts roughly 11.81 billion XRP on trading platforms — the 99th percentile of the past year, meaning holdings sit at the upper edge of the range observed over that period. The elevated reserves fuel concerns about added supply pressure, but on their own they do not prove those tokens have been sold. Today's advance is therefore not at odds with the warning.
Transfers from large holders to Binance add another layer. Media reports put those inflows at a monthly average of $112.4 million, the highest since March, with single-day inflows topping $400 million. Such moves could point to profit-taking during the recovery. Lately, though, the inflows have normalized again — a sign of easing selling pressure from that channel, even if it does nothing to diminish the overall exchange stockpile. The two observations cover different slices of market activity.
Validator Support Dips, Restarting the Clock
Separately, attention is on the planned protocol change fixCleanup3_4_0. On Wednesday, validator support briefly fell below the required threshold, restarting the 14-day waiting period. The earliest possible activation date is now November 4.
That date is not a confirmed go-live. Support has since recovered, but activation remains tied to the necessary backing across the network. The change is designed to close a gap in token permissions and correct calculations for vault and lending functions.
The network also recovered from temporary delays in closing ledgers. Operators implemented a recommended configuration change, and developers prepared a permanent software fix in parallel.
XRP at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
What Actually Matters
For holders, the key distinction is between fund demand and the broader market. The inflows show appetite for XRP investment products, while the recent crypto weakness coincided with falling equity prices. Reported deposits to trading platforms, meanwhile, are not the same as executed sales — fund flows and exchange transfers offer different clues, not a definitive read on direction.
Taken together, the ETF buying provides a concrete counterweight to worries about exchange stockpiles, and the cooling of large transfers is a more favorable signal. Yet the high reserves keep selling risk alive, and the delayed protocol change caps how much weight the fund data can carry. Less important than today's gain is whether the recent calm in inflows holds — and whether a single inflow day turns into sustained demand.
