Vortex Energy has handed Lonquist Field Service (Canada), ULC a geological desktop study covering its Robinsons River salt project, tasking the contractor with assessing whether the property's formations could host naturally occurring hydrogen and helium. The company holds a 100% interest in the salt asset.

Rather than commissioning fresh fieldwork, the engagement calls for Lonquist to sift through existing geological, geophysical and wellbore records already on file for the project area. From that review, the contractor is expected to deliver recommendations on whether deeper exploration on the ground is warranted.

A Desk Exercise, Not a Discovery

Vortex has been careful to frame the assignment as a purely analytical exercise. The study evaluates theoretical possibilities only; it neither confirms that hydrogen or helium exist in the formations nor demonstrates that either could be extracted economically. Its sole function is to inform a decision about possible future field programs.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Vortex Energy?

The contract builds on a sequence of earlier milestones at Robinsons River. More than a month ago, a technical study confirmed the property's salt system. That was followed by the announcement of a ground-gravity survey, with the contract for that work awarded roughly three weeks ago.

Meadows Acquisition Bolsters Saskatchewan Footprint

In a parallel track, Vortex has been expanding its Canadian land position. About a week ago, the company completed its purchase of the Meadows project in Saskatchewan, taking over all of Global Strategic Minerals Corp.'s shares in mineral exploration licence SMP273. The transfer included the licence itself along with all assignable technical project data and regulatory permits. A work commitment for the Meadows project had been locked in more than a month earlier.

Those moves sketch out a two-pronged development plan: advancing the enlarged Meadows asset in Saskatchewan while mining existing datasets at Robinsons River to determine whether additional resources such as helium and natural hydrogen could round out the geological profile.

Quiet Trading, Strong Year-to-Date Run

Trading in the stock was subdued in the latest session. The shares closed yesterday at USD 0.4000, down 2.2%, though they remain up 38% since the start of the year. No fresh analyst ratings emerged for the stock in the recent period.
