European investors keep pouring money into the region's dominant global equity tracker. The Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS ETF (Accumulating) pulled in net inflows of €863.3 million in the week through 24 August, the largest weekly haul among globally invested equity ETFs in its category, according to etfexpress.com. The surge extends a run that has seen the fund collect more than $16 billion since the start of 2026.

A Behemoth Keeps Growing

The inflows pushed assets under management to $84.31 billion as of 24 August, cementing the fund's status as Europe's largest FTSE All-World ETF. Its scale delivers a trading liquidity advantage that matters to both institutional and retail buyers. The share price closed Wednesday at €166.72, roughly 2.1 percent below its 52-week high of €170.24 set on 13 August, with a 15 percent gain over the past year.

The fund's gravitational pull owes much to a pricing overhaul. Vanguard's cut to the ongoing charges figure took effect on 28 July, lowering the OCF from 0.19 percent to 0.14 percent, with the currency-hedged share class dropping from 0.22 percent to 0.17 percent. That represents a 36.4 percent reduction within less than a year, measured from the October 2025 starting point of 0.22 percent. The firm estimates investors save roughly $37 million annually as a result.

Cost leadership has become a decisive battleground in Europe's passive fund industry, and Vanguard's aggressive fee trajectory positions the All-World fund at the sharp end of that competition. While inflows can rarely be pinned to a single driver, the structural expense advantage clearly bolsters the fund's appeal.

Index Mechanics Behind the Scenes

Beneath the surface, FTSE Russell keeps fine-tuning the index the fund tracks. Six Vietnamese equities — including Vietcombank, Vingroup and Vinhomes — are slated for inclusion in the FTSE All-World Index on 21 September, coinciding with Vietnam's elevation to Secondary Emerging Market status. That move adds Southeast Asian diversification to the benchmark.

A more technical adjustment landed on 28 August, when FTSE Russell revised the investability weighting of India's Lenskart Solutions. Such changes rarely register with investors, but they accumulate into a continuous recalibration of the global equity structure that the ETF mirrors automatically.

Family Expansion

Vanguard has not been idle on the product front. On 20 August, it launched three new global equity UCITS ETFs: the FTSE Global All-Cap, the FTSE Global Small-Cap, and the FTSE All-World ex-US. The newcomers sit alongside the flagship, giving investors options to exclude US exposure or tilt toward smaller companies.

The firm has also moved beyond equities entirely. Its first floating-rate product worldwide, the Vanguard Australian Floating Rate Bond Index ETF (VFLT), tracks the Bloomberg AusBond Corporate Liquid FRN 1+ Year Index, extending the house's reach into variable-rate fixed income.

For existing holders of the All-World fund, these developments change nothing about the core holding. But they underscore the scale and ambition of an issuer whose flagship remains the centerpiece of its European lineup. The sustained inflow momentum suggests institutional investors see little reason to abandon the broadly diversified approach, even with markets hovering near record levels and new sibling funds offering fresh ways to slice the same global opportunity set.
