TUI's seven-session rally brings shares within 1% of key technical level, fueled by pricing power over bookings and robust demand in eastern Mediterranean.

A seven-session winning streak has carried TUI's stock to within striking distance of a level that chart-watchers have been monitoring for weeks. The shares closed Friday at €7.55, up 0.24 percent on the day, leaving them just 0.97 percent shy of the 200-day moving average at €7.62.

The rally, which has lifted the stock by just over ten percent since late July, marks a notable turnaround for a company whose equity has spent much of 2025 in the red. Even after the recent advance, TUI remains 15.72 percent below where it started the year and a long way from its 52-week high of €9.50. But the wide gap between the current price and the year's trough of €6.11 suggests the worst may be behind it.

What's driving the recovery isn't a sudden surge in bookings — it's a deliberate change in how the tour operator approaches its core business. Management has shifted away from chasing raw booking growth in the summer season and is instead prioritizing pricing power. Average revenue per customer has risen roughly three percent, with the strategy aimed at offsetting higher input costs and squeezing more profit out of each traveler.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying TUI?

The approach appears to be resonating in the company's strongest markets. Demand across the eastern Mediterranean — particularly Turkey, Greece and Egypt — remains robust, and those destinations are carrying much of the weight in the summer program. The cruise division is adding further support, with the newly deployed Mein Schiff Flow expanding capacity in what is already the company's most margin-rich segment.

On the balance sheet, TUI has been working to repair the damage of the pandemic years. A share buyback program of up to €100 million, launched in February, is proceeding as planned, with more than three million shares already repurchased. Market participants read the buyback as a signal that management considers the stock undervalued. Moody's continues to rate TUI at Ba3, and analysts have acknowledged the company's progress on debt reduction as well as the resumption of dividend payments — the first since before the pandemic — at €0.10 per share in the spring.

The technical picture offers some encouragement for bulls. The relative strength index stands at 64.3, indicating the stock has momentum without being overbought. Should the shares break decisively above the 200-day line, the path toward €8.00 and eventually the €9.50 peak becomes more plausible. Downside support sits at the 50-day moving average of €7.08.

With no corporate events scheduled in the coming week, trading is likely to be driven by sentiment across the broader travel sector. The real test arrives on August 12, when TUI is expected to report third-quarter results and its nine-month figures. That report will reveal whether the pricing discipline strategy has actually translated into improved margins — or whether the market's renewed confidence is premature. Until then, the €7.62 hurdle is where the story will be decided.
