Telix Pharmaceuticals Shares Retreat as Pipeline Spending and ITM Merger Take Center Stage
Published on 10/21/2026 at 18:11 | Editorial boerse-global.deTelix Pharmaceuticals is pressing ahead with a hefty development agenda even as its stock came under pressure on Wednesday. The radiopharma group reported a 19% year-on-year rise in third-quarter 2026 revenue to USD 245 million, yet the equity fell roughly 8% — 9.05 EUR pre-market, a daily move of -8.3% — as investors weighed growth against the cost of building out the business.
The quarter tells two stories depending on the yardstick. Measured against the same period a year earlier, revenue is climbing briskly. Measured against the second quarter, momentum has flattened: group sales slipped slightly on a sequential basis.
Precision Medicine carries the top line
The core Precision Medicine unit generated USD 201 million in revenue, up 30% from a year ago, with Illuccix and Gozellix named as the principal drivers. On a sequential basis, however, that division's sales were unchanged. US dose volume edged up just 1% from the prior quarter — a reminder that the headline growth rate reflects the year-earlier comparison rather than a fresh acceleration in demand.
Management still expects Precision Medicine revenue to expand by more than 25% across full-year 2026. Core product sales are forecast at USD 950–970 million, with the company guiding toward the upper end of that range.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Telix Pharmaceuticals?
Full-year targets held, R&D range narrowed
Group revenue and other income for 2026 are projected to exceed USD 1 billion, unchanged from prior guidance — no upgrade accompanied the quarterly update. Spending plans were sharpened rather than slashed: research and development costs are now expected at USD 240–260 million, against an earlier range of USD 230–270 million. The floor has risen while the ceiling has come down, so the tighter band signals greater precision, not a pullback from the pipeline. Telix continues to advance study programs in prostate, brain and kidney cancer.
Investors should keep the two figures distinct: the revenue and other income outlook is not a profit forecast, and the R&D number is a projection rather than reported annual costs.
ITM deal and isotope supply in focus
Beyond the product business, Telix is pursuing an announced merger with Isotope Technologies Munich, valued initially at USD 1.65 billion, with a shareholder vote scheduled for December. The aim is a vertically integrated radiopharma company with greater isotope production capacity.
On the supply side, Telix said Monday it had agreed with Ekalia to establish US production of astatine-211. An IBA Alpha-Beam cyclotron is to be installed and operated at the RLS site in Trevose, near Philadelphia, with Telix slated to receive preferential access to a portion of the planned capacity. The supply is intended in part to support TLX102-Tx, an investigational therapy candidate whose safety and efficacy have not yet been established; additional sites are under review as demand grows.

Analysts stay constructive
Despite the share price reaction, sell-side opinion remains upbeat. Wedbush keeps an outperform rating and a USD 22 price target, while HC Wainwright recommends buying with a USD 20 target.
The coming months thus hinge on execution: hitting the confirmed annual targets, restoring sequential momentum after a strong prior-year comparison, and securing shareholder approval for the ITM transaction. The narrower R&D range adds definition to the outlook — but it does not substitute for the growth proof investors are waiting on.
