Take-Two Braces for November 9 Print as Wall Street Splits on Near-Term Drag and Post-GTA VI Upside
Published on 10/18/2026 at 16:10 | Editorial boerse-global.deTake-Two Interactive will report second-quarter results for fiscal 2027 on November 9, 2026, after the market close, with a conference call scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET. The publisher confirmed the date on Tuesday, giving investors a fixed checkpoint against a backdrop of diverging analyst views on what the numbers will show.
The quarter in question ended September 30, 2026. No fresh figures accompanied the scheduling announcement, so the report itself remains the next hard data point for a stock that has drawn both bullish long-term calls and trimmed near-term forecasts in the same week.
Wells Fargo set the more cautious tone, cutting its estimates for the fiscal second quarter on Tuesday. The firm reduced its projected bookings by 2% and its forecast for adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization by 4%. Its reasoning spanned several parts of the business: softer unit expectations for NBA 2K, weaker growth in recurring consumer spending, and pressure in Take-Two's mobile operations. The revision was not tied to a single title.
According to media reports, the stock's sharp move on Tuesday was connected to that downgrade. Shares also fell on Friday, posting a daily change of -2.2% amid broad market weakness, though no company-specific trigger was identified for that session.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Take-Two Interactive?
Citi struck a different note on Thursday, reaffirming its buy rating and a $270 price target. The brokerage argued that a Red Dead release in 2027 or 2028 is not an unreasonable prospect, and that such a launch could ease concerns about earnings momentum after Grand Theft Auto VI. That remains an analyst scenario rather than a confirmed Take-Two announcement.
Jefferies also reiterated its buy recommendation on Wednesday, with a $300 price target, pointing to potential upside from Grand Theft Auto VI. The two bullish cases share a forward-looking focus but rest on different premises — Citi on a possible additional title, Jefferies on the franchise flagship.
The distinction matters. Citi's thesis describes a potential later earnings support, while Wells Fargo has pulled back concrete expectations for the current business. A buy rating does not offset those cuts, and the lower quarterly estimates say nothing on their own about how future releases will perform commercially.
Take-Two Interactive at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
Separately, media reports on October 12 said Take-Two had filed court requests for information from Microsoft, Discord and X as it seeks to identify alleged infringers. The move followed a group's threat to publish what it claimed was a complete version of Grand Theft Auto VI. That threat has not been independently verified, and nothing in the reported legal action establishes either the authenticity of the purported game build or that any release took place.
For investors, the pieces sit on different footing: the earnings date is confirmed, the bullish analyst arguments rest on expectations, and the reported leak threat remains unsubstantiated. Keeping those layers apart matters more than any single down day.
