The eastern German municipality of Niederau has kicked off a fresh funding phase for civic projects, with grants available through a regional democracy partnership that now counts roughly 20,000 euros in approved backing. Applications are split into two tracks, depending on how much money a project needs. Larger proposals — those seeking 1,000 euros or more — must be submitted at least four weeks before the meetings of the oversight committee that reviews them.
