Silver Storm Mining Gains 8.6% as Eric Sprott Backs Restart with C$7.5M Injection
Published on 08/24/2026 at 17:32 | Redaktion boerse-global.deInvestors in Silver Storm Mining are enjoying a buoyant Monday session, with shares trading at €0.3555 — an advance of roughly 8.6% — as two powerful tailwinds converge: a surge in global silver prices and confirmation that billionaire metals investor Eric Sprott is deepening his stake in the Canadian junior miner.
Sprott Doubles Down on La Parrilla Restart
The weekend brought confirmation that Sprott, through his investment vehicle 2176423 Ontario Ltd., has fully subscribed to a non-brokered private placement worth C$7.5 million. The transaction comprises 15 million units priced at C$0.50 each, with every unit consisting of one common share and half a purchase warrant. A full warrant entitles the holder to acquire an additional share within a specified exercise window — though the two announcements differ slightly on the terms, with one citing a 24-month period and a fixed exercise price, while the other references 18 months at C$0.70 per share.
The financing, expected to close Tuesday pending customary regulatory approvals, lifts Sprott's ownership from approximately 11.6% to a level the company has yet to quantify precisely. The fresh capital is earmarked to strengthen the balance sheet and accelerate the recommencement of operations at La Parrilla, the company's wholly-owned silver mine complex in Durango, Mexico.
Silver Rally Provides Sector-Wide Lift
The stock's upward momentum comes against a backdrop of extraordinary strength in the underlying commodity. Media reports indicate the silver price vaulted roughly 20% during August, at one point on Friday brushing against the $70-per-ounce threshold. The demand shock was triggered in part by the US Treasury's decision to double its buybacks of long-dated government bonds — a move that sharply enhanced the appeal of precious metals as a store of value.
Junior explorers and near-term producers like Silver Storm typically trade with amplified sensitivity to moves in the underlying metal, and Friday's session proved no exception. The shares closed at €0.3275, sitting approximately 18% above their 50-day moving average — a signal that short-term momentum remains constructive. The stock now stands a remarkable 194% above its 52-week low, underscoring how far sentiment has shifted since the sector's trough.

Regulatory Green Light for Expanded Drilling
Beyond the financial backing, the company has been clearing important administrative hurdles. On Thursday, Mexico's environmental ministry SEMARNAT granted approval for 62 new drill sites and 27 access roads across the La Parrilla property. The permit, valid for four years, paves the way for extensive infill and expansion drilling designed to grow the resource base.
These approvals build on a string of operational milestones. Roughly a month ago, Silver Storm announced its first shipment of lead-silver and zinc concentrates from La Parrilla, following the commissioning of the refurbished sulphide processing circuit. That initial batch included 105 tonnes of lead-silver concentrate.
Early August brought further encouragement from the Rosarios zone, where drilling returned high-grade intercepts — including one hole grading 215 grams per tonne silver equivalent over 11.90 metres and another delivering 200 g/t over 15.35 metres. The exploration results were complemented by adjustments to the prepayment agreement with Samsung C&T and a US$5 million loan facility secured from First Majestic Silver, providing additional financial headroom during the ramp-up phase.
Quarterly Results in Focus
All eyes are now on today's release of the company's quarterly figures. Technical analysis service StockInvest.us, drawing on the stock's historical volatility, projects a potential price reaction of approximately 5.09% following the earnings announcement. Despite a cautious near-term outlook, the shares continue to trade above their 200-day average — a level often watched by trend-following investors.
The analyst community remains firmly constructive, with a consensus rating of "Strong Buy" and a 12-month average price target of C$0.80 — implying substantial upside from current levels. At present valuations, Silver Storm carries a market capitalisation of approximately €250.62 million.
Whether the financial metrics can validate the operational optimism of recent weeks will determine whether today's gains mark the beginning of a sustained re-rating or merely a pause in a longer journey.
