Siemens Healthineers Stuck at Berenberg's New 39-Euro Target as Buyback Grinds On

Berenberg downgraded Siemens Healthineers to Hold with a 39-euro target, matching Friday's 39.12-euro close, as Q4 results loom on November 5.

Siemens Healthineers has found an unusual equilibrium: its share price and its most recent analyst target are now one and the same. Berenberg cut its rating to "Hold" from "Buy" and trimmed its price objective to 39 euros from 54 euros, a level the stock effectively matched when it closed Friday at 39.12 euros. The Hamburg-based broker's message was blunt — the upside, for now, looks largely priced in.

That caution is hardly an isolated view. Deutsche Bank Research had already parked the medical technology group at "Hold" with a 39-euro target on Monday. Analyst Falko Friedrichs told clients he expects solid figures for the fourth fiscal quarter but sees little room for a sustained breakout. The consensus, in other words, is wait-and-see.

A Year of Consolidation

The backdrop explains the mood. Since the start of the year the equity has shed 13 percent, and it sits well below its 52-week high of 49.78 euros. Market participants appear reluctant to add exposure until the company delivers hard evidence on its trajectory — evidence that arrives with the quarterly report.

Siemens Healthineers will publish results for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026 on November 5, with management hosting an analyst call the same day to walk through the detailed figures and operating performance.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Siemens Healthineers?

Buyback Keeps Ticking

While the analysts hold fire, the company is quietly supporting its own stock. The repurchase program, launched June 1, has been running steadily. In the trading week through October 4, Siemens Healthineers bought back 49,987 of its own shares, following 160,000 in the prior September week. Cumulative volume since inception now stands at 3,424,346 shares.

Regulatory Wins Pile Up

Product news has continued to flow alongside the capital measures. The 1.5-tesla MAGNETOM Flow.Elite magnetic resonance scanner became the first medical imaging device anywhere to earn ENERGY STAR certification, a distinction confirming its energy efficiency in clinical use — a milestone announced Monday.

In radiotherapy, the company unveiled Accela on September 27, a NeoArc-based system capable of stereotactic treatment at multiple body sites in as little as 60 seconds. The offering carries European CE marking and clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration. It is designed to help clinicians rule out deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, and to monitor severe coagulation disorders.

Imaging also advanced on another front, with the NAEOTOM Alpha.Peak deployed at the RHÖN-KLINIKUM Campus Bad Neustadt, where photon-counting computed tomography is being used for neuroradiological visualization of neurovascular structures.

Whether this pipeline momentum and the ongoing buyback can shift the cautious stance on the stock is a question the November figures will have to answer.
