Siemens Energy: RBC's EBITA Call, DZ Bank's Valuation Nod, and a EUR 7 Billion Financing Still in the Making

Siemens Energy shares climbed 3.2% on Friday, lifted by an upbeat sector study from RBC Capital Markets rather than by any fresh operating disclosure from the company itself. The advance put earnings expectations squarely in the spotlight — and set the stage for two houses to read the same story in noticeably different ways.
RBC reaffirmed its "Outperform" rating and a EUR 200 price target on Friday. Analyst Mark Fielding told clients that revenue momentum across the industrial goods sector is improving despite lingering macroeconomic risks, and he expects Siemens Energy to post EBITA above the consensus estimate for the third quarter of 2026. The bullish sector backdrop and the company-specific earnings call are two distinct claims: the first concerns the industry, the second lands directly on Siemens Energy's own numbers. Neither constitutes a reported result, and the cyclical risks Fielding flagged do not evaporate simply because his outlook is constructive.
The DZ Bank took a more measured line on Thursday. Analyst Alexander Hauenstein raised his fair value estimate from EUR 128 to EUR 157 but left the rating at "Halten." Hauenstein anticipates a modest beat against the company's raised guidance for fiscal 2025/26 and expects mid-term targets for 2030 to come in at a higher level. The two houses therefore share a broadly constructive view of the operating picture — what separates them is valuation and, ultimately, the recommendation. A higher assumed company value does not automatically translate into a buy signal, and the hold rating caps how much weight the upgraded fair value can carry.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Siemens Energy?
A Financing Package, Not a Signed Deal
Separately, Bloomberg reported Friday that banks are preparing financing of up to EUR 7 billion to support a possible sale of a majority stake in Siemens Energy's steam turbine business. No transaction has been confirmed. The arrangement of financing must not be conflated with the completion of a sale — a distinction that matters for anyone reading the headline as a done deal.
The buyback provides further context: roughly a week ago, Siemens Energy disclosed the acquisition of its own shares under its existing program. On the insider side, supervisory board member Robert Kensbock acquired a financial instrument linked to Siemens Energy shares off-market on October 6 for a total of EUR 101,500. Media reports stressed that this was explicitly not a direct purchase of stock. For investors, that nuance is decisive — the transaction should not be presented as a straightforward buy of Siemens Energy equity, nor does it substitute for evidence that the anticipated earnings improvement will materialize.
November 11 as the Next Real Test
The company's financial calendar flags November 11 as the date of its extended conference on fourth-quarter results for fiscal 2026. That print is the next concrete checkpoint for the analyst community's optimism. Until then, the dividing line holds: positive earnings forecasts support the investment case, but they are not confirmed results — and Friday's share price gain does not pre-empt that confirmation.
