Siemens Energy: Buyback Crosses 5.85 Million Shares as AI Jitters Set Up 11 November Showdown
Published on 11/03/2026 at 14:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deSiemens Energy's share price is being pulled in two directions at once, and the tug-of-war has little to do with anything the company itself has said. A sell-off on Friday, triggered by media reports questioning the durability of the AI boom, collided with a steady drip of buyback disclosures — leaving investors to work out which signal actually matters ahead of the group's annual results.
The pressure came from the wider market rather than from any fresh operational update. Heavy AI spending and a soft outlook from Intel fed the doubts, and the unease spread to Siemens Energy as an AI-infrastructure play after news from Amazon and Intel. That distinction is central: scepticism about the economics of AI capex can weigh on valuations across the infrastructure complex, but on its own it says nothing about whether Siemens Energy's own business is deteriorating.
A date to anchor the debate
The next hard data point is already circled. On 11 November, the company holds its extended conference on the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, with a press call from 08:00 CET and an analyst conference from 11:00 CET. The same date carries the annual figures and the strategic targets through 2030 — putting both the closed fiscal year and the longer-term trajectory on the agenda.
Friday's move offered only a partial signal. A 1.7% gain marked a rebound after the recent selling, yet it answers none of the questions the sell-off raised. What matters more is what management says about its own development, and how those expectations square with the market's view of AI infrastructure demand.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Siemens Energy?
Buyback keeps rolling
Running alongside that debate, Siemens Energy is pressing on with its share repurchase programme. In its sixth interim report, the company put purchases for the week at 1,337,076 own shares, taking the total since the programme began on 24 September to 5,850,308. The reported holdings run through 1 November.
The buying was spread across every trading day of the week and executed on several venues, including Xetra — so no single block trade sat behind the weekly volume. Reported daily average prices ranged from EUR 122.6675 to EUR 135.7774. Those figures describe actual purchase terms; they are neither price targets nor a company statement on the stock's fair value.
The repurchase is a concrete, company-level event set against fluctuating market sentiment. It is not, however, proof of extra orders or fatter margins. Capital measures and operational prospects answer different investor questions, and the buyback does not substitute for the operational stock-taking due on 11 November.
Siemens Energy at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
Analysts split on the earnings path
Opinion on the equity remains divided. DZ Bank raised its fair value to EUR 157 on 8 October while reaffirming its "Hold" rating; analyst Alexander Hauenstein expects a slight beat of the already-raised guidance for fiscal 2025/26, forecasts roughly in line with consensus for the following year, and an upward revision to the medium-term targets. That is an expectation formed ahead of the numbers, not a settled target.
Bank of America, meanwhile, stays optimistic with a EUR 250 price target, while other analysts point to limited margins. The continued buyback thus sits beside a still-unresolved disagreement over earnings prospects. Whether the bullish assumptions hold up is a question only the annual figures can answer.
