Siemens Energy: 5.85 Million Shares Bought Back, a Hokkaido Wind Pact, and the 11 November Numbers That Will Settle the Argument
Published on 11/03/2026 at 06:31 | Editorial boerse-global.deSiemens Energy has now repurchased 5,850,308 of its own shares since the programme opened on 24 September, according to the sixth interim disclosure published yesterday. The latest filing alone covers 1,337,076 shares picked up over the past week — a figure that documents completed transactions rather than a stated intention to buy.
Trading was spread across every session of that week and routed through multiple venues, Xetra among them, so no single block trade sits behind the weekly total. Reported daily average prices ranged from EUR 122.6675 to EUR 135.7774. Those are the conditions actually booked, not price targets, and they carry no company view on what the stock is worth.
Two Signals, One Calendar
For investors the buyback and the strategic news flow answer different questions. The repurchase is settled fact: shares have changed hands. Whether the operating story justifies analysts' hopes is another matter entirely, and it will be settled by the figures due on 11 November 2026, when Siemens Energy publishes full-year results together with its strategic targets through 2030. An expanded analyst conference is scheduled for the same day.
The distinction matters most on the long-range goals. Consensus estimates and binding company commitments are not the same thing, and the buyback does nothing to close that gap.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Siemens Energy?
Floating Wind, and a Fusion Deal Alongside
On the strategic front, Siemens Energy and Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday covering cooperation in floating offshore wind. The scope runs from project development to supply-chain build-out and workforce training. METI indicated that Siemens Energy would also establish a strategic operations and maintenance base in Hokkaido — taking the arrangement beyond planning and into the groundwork for eventual operations.
Status deserves emphasis: this is a memorandum of understanding, not a site already up and running, and no concrete earnings contribution can be read into it. Handelsblatt separately reported on Thursday that Siemens Energy had reached an agreement with a Japanese company on nuclear fusion cooperation. Both items are partnerships; neither is a set of published results.
Where the Analysts Stand
Valuation views remain split. DZ Bank lifted its fair value to EUR 157 on 8 October while keeping a "Hold" rating; analyst Alexander Hauenstein looks for a slight beat of the already-raised guidance for fiscal 2025/26, forecasts roughly in line with consensus for the year after, and an upward revision to the medium-term targets. That is a pre-results expectation, not an adopted plan.
Siemens Energy at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
Bank of America stays bullish with a EUR 250 price target, while other analysts point to limited margins. The continuing buyback therefore sits alongside a still-divided assessment of earnings prospects — and the annual figures will have to show how well the optimistic case holds up.
