Santhera Stock Slips Again as Investors Weigh Full-Year Revenue Target Against 2027 Rebate
Published on 10/09/2026 at 04:30 | Editorial boerse-global.deSanthera Pharmaceuticals shares fell 3.0% to €15.30 on Thursday, extending a stretch of weakness that has left the stock without any fresh company news to explain the move. The decline follows a series of pullbacks in recent weeks, and market participants appear to be marking time while they digest the company's latest disclosures.
Since publishing its half-year results just over a week ago, the stock has shed 6.1%. A further overhang comes from the roughly month-old release of a study analysis on Agamree in DMD, after which the shares have lost 14.7%.
First-Half Revenue Doubles, Full-Year Guidance in the Spotlight
The numbers that matter most for the fundamental case were unveiled in the first-half report. Revenue for H1 2026 reached CHF 48.3 million, double the CHF 24.0 million booked in the same period of 2025. Management left its full-year 2026 sales guidance unchanged at CHF 80 million to CHF 90 million, according to media reports, and that range now serves as the key yardstick for the months ahead.
The top-line gain was driven largely by rising product sales, while the company simultaneously tightened its cost base. That combination produced a markedly smaller operating loss, with Santhera edging closer to break-even. The operating loss for the period came in at CHF 6.6 million, a clear improvement on the substantially larger shortfall recorded a year earlier. As of June 30, the company held liquid funds of CHF 41.8 million.

Cash Position Seen Broadly Stable Through Year-End
Santhera has indicated that its cash holdings should remain broadly stable through the end of 2026. Delivering on the annual revenue target would go a long way toward underpinning that scenario. If second-half sales come in at a level close to the first half, the projected range moves within reach, and a dependable cash position would let the company pursue its operating plan without immediate financing pressure.
The flip side is that any loss of momentum in the coming months would put the lower end of the CHF 80 million to CHF 90 million range under strain. Given the share price declines of recent weeks, a missed target could deepen the market's caution. The anticipated stability of liquid funds also rests on revenue developing as planned through year-end; should sales fall short of assumptions, financial runway could come under pressure as well.
German Rebate and Partner Ordering Set to Weigh on 2027
Looking further out, management tempered expectations for the coming year. Santhera expects a decline in its liquid reserves in the first half of 2027, driven chiefly by deferred inventory purchases by partners and regulatory adjustments. Specifically, a mandatory price rebate in the German market takes effect in the first quarter of 2027. According to the company, this foreseeable burden will not require additional external financing. Even so, pricing remains a central factor for investors as the company pushes further into the market.

PRAC Meeting Puts AGAMREE Safety Data Under Review
Running alongside the commercial story is the regulatory track for AGAMREE (vamorolone). On September 28, the drug appeared on the agenda of the European Medicines Agency's Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee. The committee's discussions concerned the submission of updated comprehensive safety data by marketing authorization holder Santhera Pharmaceuticals (Deutschland) GmbH. No concrete outcome from the regulatory session was published.
For now, the investment case rests on whether revenue can sustain the CHF 80 million to CHF 90 million target, keeping the narrative of a gradual operating recovery intact. Should momentum falter in the second half, doubts about financial predictability are likely to resurface. The next major checkpoint for shareholders is the close of fiscal 2026, when actual delivery against the sales guidance and the announced liquidity position will be put to the test.
