SanDisk Rebounds 4.3% as Meta Supply Win and Zacks Upgrade Cut Through the Memory-Sector Noise
Published on 10/19/2026 at 13:11 | Editorial boerse-global.deA day after sliding 7.2% in a broad memory-stock selloff, SanDisk shares clawed back ground on Tuesday, climbing 4.3% to EUR 1,210.00 as the wider semiconductor complex steadied and investors refocused on the company's own operational news flow.
The Friday close of EUR 1,160.00 had captured plenty of market skepticism. Yet the gap between sector-wide pressure and SanDisk's actual positioning has rarely looked wider, and a pair of developments this week gave traders reasons to re-examine the selloff.
Meta Taps SanDisk as Exclusive Flash Supplier
The headline item: SanDisk will serve as exclusive supplier of flash-memory solutions for Meta's VR glasses, which are slated to launch in spring 2027. The arrangement, announced Wednesday, covers microSD Express cards and USB-C flash drives that Meta has tested for the device. Design wins of this kind tend to follow long industrial cycles rather than the mood swings of floor traders, and for memory makers, dependable large-volume orders in immersive hardware offer a useful cushion against demand fluctuations.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying SANDISK?
SanDisk is also broadening its consumer footprint. On October 13 the company introduced the Guardian line, a portfolio of durable storage products aimed squarely at dashcams and home security cameras. Endurance is the selling point in that niche: the 512-gigabyte dashcam card, for instance, was engineered for up to 40,000 hours of recording. It is a deliberate push into segments where storage demand never really switches off.
Zacks Lifts Rating to Strong Buy
Analysts have taken note of the mismatch between operating progress and share-price action. On Thursday, Zacks Research upgraded the stock from "Hold" to "Strong Buy," with media reports citing the company's recent strategic moves and its risk-reward profile as the rationale. The rating agency pointed to robust AI-driven demand for NAND memory and the company's debt-free balance sheet.
That NAND focus matters. The trigger for the sector-wide pullback roughly a week ago was news out of China's ChangXin Memory Technologies, which reported progress on a denser 4F² DRAM design and unveiled plans to bring DDR5 server products to market by the end of 2026. The reports revived familiar fears of oversupply and eroding prices — but they concern DRAM, while SanDisk's business is concentrated in NAND flash. The reflexive flight from the stock largely overlooked that distinction in product portfolios.
October 29 Report Becomes the Real Test
Hard numbers arrive at the end of the month. SanDisk has scheduled first-quarter fiscal 2027 results for October 29, when management will walk through the financials on a conference call and offer insight into demand trends. Only that report will show how resilient NAND margins have actually been — and whether the memory-sector selloff overshot the mark.
