Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation have set up XRP Asia, a Singapore-based entity tasked with growing the digital asset's ecosystem across the region and courting both developers and financial partners. Sabrina Tachdjian will run the new unit, which is to coordinate developer programs, regional hackathons and early-stage investments aimed at pulling fresh projects onto the XRP Ledger.

Funding draws in part on commitments made earlier. Under a developer initiative tied to one billion XRP, Ripple had carved out a dedicated pool for the Japanese and South Korean markets, holding double-digit millions of US dollars for local partnerships.

The regional push sits alongside a broader ambition: from 2027, a markedly larger share of cross-border customer payments is to be settled directly on the ledger, with liquidity pools helping to pre-fund transactions. A standard known as XLS-66 is currently before network validators. The draft provides for unsecured loans drawn from segregated asset pools, with risk assessment and credit scoring kept off-chain while the actual disbursement of funds happens on-chain.

Brazilian Market Infrastructure Taps the Ledger

Reaching into traditional finance, Brazilian financial market infrastructure firm CSD BR is using the network as an additional layer for recording and verifying Brazilian financial assets, according to media reports. The first phase covers shares in investment funds run by major bank BTG Pactual, putting the ledger to work in the representation and auditability of regulated capital market products. For XRP itself, the token underpinning the network, that widens practical utility beyond plain payment transfers, with the goal of documenting settlement more reliably and simplifying verification through a decentralized register.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?

Corporate-level token holdings are expanding in parallel. Shareholders of Armada Acquisition Corp. II voted on Wednesday to approve a merger with Evernorth Holdings, a Ripple-backed company that plans to build a corporate XRP reserve. The transaction covers more than 473 million XRP. Once the remaining steps close, the combined company is targeting a listing on the Nasdaq technology exchange under the ticker XRPN — a bid to anchor crypto assets on the balance sheet through regulated exchange vehicles and special purpose acquisition companies.

Validators Back Batch Upgrade, With 2026 Activation Window

On the technology side, the network faces a system change. The BatchV1_1 upgrade, which bundles up to eight transactions, has regained the backing of 30 of the 35 verified validators after an earlier delay. If that level of support holds, 9 October 2026 is the earliest date for final activation on the mainnet. The feature is designed so that batched transfers either succeed as a group or are rejected together.

Institutional flows continue to shape the backdrop. Net inflows into US spot XRP ETFs totaled 121.4 million US dollars in September, and net assets under management across those funds stood at 1.69 billion US dollars as of 29 September. Ripple, meanwhile, released one billion XRP from escrow across four transactions on Thursday as part of its monthly schedule.

XRP at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

Legal Cloud Lifts as Price Holds Above Key Average

Ripple's chief legal officer, Stuart Alderoty, weighed in on US regulation, stressing that XRP's status has already been settled in court after years of litigation. He pointed to a 400-page rulemaking draft from the SEC covering digital assets, saying it takes up core arguments the company had previously advanced in its submissions.

The market is reflecting that mix of developments in a steady tone. XRP trades at 1.49 US dollars, a gain of 0.4% on the day, and sits 7.5% above its 50-day average of 1.39 US dollars — technical support that has held even as the token's use cases multiply.
