Renk Locks In Miba Bearing Sale and Resets 2026 Targets, While a Stake Disclosure and a JPMorgan Cut Pull in Different Directions
Published on 10/22/2026 at 05:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deRenk has moved from intention to contract on the disposal of its plain bearings business, signing a binding agreement with Miba AG that carries a price tag in the low-to-mid three-digit million-euro range. The seller of record is RENK GmbH. What the announcement does not deliver is completion: the transaction still hinges on the customary regulatory approvals, so the deal is agreed but not yet closed.
That distinction shapes everything that follows. Because the bearing unit will be reported as a discontinued operation from the fourth quarter of 2026, Renk has recast its guidance for the 2026 financial year around continuing operations only. The new targets describe what remains of the company, not the larger group that still includes plain bearings — a scope change that cannot simply be read as an operating upgrade or downgrade.
Guidance Redrawn for a Smaller Group
On that continuing-operations basis, the company is guiding toward revenue of roughly EUR 1.4 billion, with adjusted EBIT of between EUR 240 million and EUR 255 million. Management had already used a pre-close call ahead of the nine-month figures to say that business is tracking to plan and to confirm the 2026 outlook, still aiming for the upper half of the adjusted EBIT range. That was a reaffirmation of the existing forecast, not a raise.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Renk Group?
The longer-dated side of the story comes from the order book. Renk's previously disclosed extension with KNDS Deutschland is worth about EUR 130 million and covers gearboxes, control units and gear selector switches for the Leopard 2 and vehicles from the same family. Deliveries are scheduled for 2029 through 2032 — a timetable that underlines the contract's long-term nature and offers no basis for independently lifting the current-year forecast.
JPMorgan Splits the Operating View From the Earnings View
Sell-side positioning has diverged from the company's own framing. JPMorgan cut its price target to EUR 50 from EUR 62 while keeping an Overweight rating, according to dpa-AFX. Analyst David H. Perry now expects a stronger adjusted EBIT but trimmed his earnings-per-share estimates for 2027 through 2030 — a more favorable operating read that did not translate into higher profit expectations.
A Voting-Rights Filing That Is Not an Operating Signal
Separately, a voting-rights notification published today shows a total position of 5.06% as of the prior day, up from 4.57% previously reported. The composition matters more than the headline: instruments account for 4.28% and directly held voting rights for just 0.78%, so the aggregate should not be equated with an equivalent direct shareholding. It is a stake disclosure, not evidence of trading momentum or of any change in Renk's business.
Keeping those threads apart is the sensible approach. A larger reported position carries no revised earnings forecast and no new order with it; the operational picture rests on management's statements and on contracted deliveries. The next scheduled checkpoint is 05.11.2026, when Renk publishes its nine-month and third-quarter results — and where the gap between its continuing-operations guidance and JPMorgan's more cautious long-run profit estimates will face its first real test. On the bearing sale itself, the decisive step remains clearance from regulators.
