Renk Heads Into Q3 Print With Analysts Backing the Stock but Split on the Profit Line
Published on 10/25/2026 at 09:30 | Editorial boerse-global.deRenk's share price and its analyst coverage are pulling in opposite directions. The stock fell 2.3% on Friday, pressured by the previous day's announcement that the company will sell its plain bearings business and adjust its full-year guidance accordingly. Yet the research notes landing the same day stopped well short of a retreat from the name.
The distinction that matters is between revised business estimates and a revised investment case. DZ Bank cut its fair value to EUR 56 from EUR 64 on Friday while leaving its rating at "Buy," reworking its estimates around the announced divestments and acquisitions. MPCM, for its part, kept a buy recommendation and a EUR 63 price target. Two houses, two different valuation marks, one shared positive stance — a target cut is not, by itself, a sell signal.
Orders and earnings point in different directions
MPCM's Friday note carried a more nuanced message than the headline target suggests. The broker projected order intake running 9% above consensus, but adjusted EBIT 6% below it. The real divide ahead of the next set of figures is therefore not optimism versus pessimism in aggregate, but expected orders versus expected profitability.
That gap has practical consequences for anyone holding the stock into the numbers. An order intake that beats expectations would not automatically translate into a positive earnings surprise. MPCM described the overall picture as solid and reaffirmed its buy case, but the forecast itself sketches a mixed profile: strength in incoming orders set against a more cautious view of operating profit. Both are projections, not reported results.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Renk Group?
The Miba transaction and what it does to the numbers
The backdrop is Thursday's agreement to sell the plain bearings business to Miba. Renk struck the deal through its wholly owned subsidiary RENK GmbH; no purchase price was disclosed. The transaction still requires antitrust clearance, so it is not a completed sale.
For the continuing operations, Renk guided to roughly EUR 1.4bn in revenue and EUR 240–255m in adjusted EBIT for 2026. That carve-out is central to reading the forecast correctly — the figures refer explicitly to the business that remains. Traders quoted by dpa-AFX read the new guidance as a modest trim to operating profit expectations, which means the strategic verdict on the sale and its effect on the earnings line have to be assessed separately. A favourable view of the disposal does not guarantee that near-term profit forecasts move higher.
JPMorgan came down positively on the sale Friday. Analyst David H. Perry reworked his valuation model around the transaction and reiterated "Overweight" with a EUR 50 target.

A reporting change that will complicate comparisons
Starting in the fourth quarter of 2026, the plain bearings business will be reported as a discontinued operation. That shift puts comparability of the key metrics front and centre. What will count is how order intake and operating profit develop against expectations, and how Renk frames the continuing business when it reports.
The next hard date is 5 November, when third-quarter 2026 results are due. Until then, the buy ratings carry weight as sentiment markers but cannot substitute for that operational check. The market is digesting a redrawn company plan; the analysts are drawing their valuation approaches from it. Those two processes can run side by side without contradiction — and on Friday, they did.
