Renk Group heads into its autumn reporting season with its order book stretching well past the current decade, yet the Augsburg-based gearbox specialist still has to convince investors that the pipeline will translate into earnings on a timetable the market can price.

Two contract wins have done most of the heavy lifting on visibility. The larger of the pair is an expansion with KNDS Deutschland worth roughly EUR 130 million, covering the manufacture and supply of HSWL-354 transmissions together with transmission control units and gear selector switches. The hardware is destined for the Leopard 2 main battle tank and the wider Leopard 2 vehicle family, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2029 and run through 2032.

A second deal, a follow-on order from Patria received on 6 October, adds HSWL-076 transmissions for the TRACKX vehicle family. That contract carries a financial volume of EUR 30 million, with shipments set to start in 2027. Taken together, the two agreements give the company a firm handle on capacity utilisation deep into the next decade.

Calendar Takes Centre Stage

With the operational milestones already public, attention has shifted to the company's scheduled disclosures. Renk will host a pre-close call on the first nine months of fiscal 2026 on 21 October 2026 in Augsburg. The detailed 9M 2026 quarterly statement, along with a accompanying conference call, is slated for 5 November 2026, also at the Augsburg site.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Renk Group?

Calls of this kind are a fixture of the reporting cycle, giving analysts and investors a chance to reconcile key framework figures before the formal interim report lands. For Renk, the questions that matter are the visibility of incoming orders and the broader demand trend across the defence sector — the two variables that will shape expectations for the remainder of the fiscal year.

Sector Tailwinds and a Reaffirmed Rating

Sentiment around the stock has been helped by a friendlier tone across European defence names. As dpa-AFX reported, German defence shares recovered across the board on a Friday, without any single company announcement driving the move. The report pointed to a more constructive overall market backdrop and to Morgan Stanley's expectation that upcoming orders from the federal budget could support the sector into year-end.

On the analyst side, Jefferies reaffirmed its "Buy" rating on Renk Group on 7 October 2026. After a stretch of elevated volatility, the shares have regained ground, trading 16% above their 52-week low of EUR 33.49. The stock has moved sharply from session to session: it climbed 1.7% to EUR 38.78 in pre-market trading, and earlier in the week, on 15 and 16 October, it posted notable gains as order momentum combined with wider demand for defence equities. More recently the shares have given back some ground, changing hands at EUR 37.65, a decline of 1.3% on the day, which leaves the price 12% above that 52-week trough.

The pre-close call now stands as the next concrete checkpoint for assessing what lies ahead — and for testing whether a backlog that runs to 2032 can start earning a premium in the here and now.
