Regulator Flags Systemic Failures Across Social Housing Providers

The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) has published a series of critical judgements against multiple housing providers, exposing widespread failures in governance, financial management, and tenant safety. The regulator found that the provider lacked up-to-date knowledge of the condition of its homes and could not demonstrate compliance with legal health and safety requirements. The organisation has seen a significant deterioration in liquidity and must now submit a recovery plan or potentially face a forced transfer of its housing stock.
Final Warning for Easy Housing Association
On 30 July 2026, the RSH issued a final warning to Easy Housing Association, which operates supported exempt accommodation in Birmingham and London. The firm, which houses more than 200 people, has been cited for persistent failures to meet standards for governance, financial viability, and rent.
