The ink is barely dry on Redwood AI's Quantum.IQ Technologies acquisition, and the company is already opening its wallet again — this time to buy attention rather than technology.

The Vancouver-based artificial intelligence firm has signed two marketing agreements worth a combined 960,000 Canadian dollars, a move that arrives less than a week after closing the takeover of the quantum-cybersecurity specialist. The larger contract, valued at 810,000 Canadian dollars, covers online campaigns run by MCS Market Communication Service GmbH, while a separate 150,000 Canadian dollar arrangement with Outside the Box Capital Inc. funds social media and influencer marketing, alongside the issuance of 105,000 share options.

The timing is telling. Redwood AI is spending on visibility just as its share price is fighting for traction. Since the Quantum.IQ deal closed roughly three days ago, the stock has retreated 34.8 percent. Extend the lens back a month, and the picture darkens further: a private placement that raised 3.5 million Canadian dollars in gross proceeds has been followed by a 31.8 percent decline.

A Diversification Story Takes Shape

The acquisition itself, first flagged in company statements through May, June and July, transforms Redwood's profile. Quantum.IQ brings a platform designed to identify cryptographic assets, assess vulnerabilities and build migration plans for organizations with demanding security requirements — a meaningful departure from Redwood's previous focus on AI applications for chemistry and defense. The company is paying up to 14,033,558 shares at an assumed price of 2.98 dollars, with 7,033,558 of those shares locked in a staggered escrow arrangement for 24 months. An additional tranche of up to 7 million shares is contingent on achieving customer and revenue milestones, a structure that tempers near-term dilution risk. Redwood is also issuing 50,000 shares as an administrative fee and 100,000 shares as a finder's fee, with all securities subject to Canadian Securities Exchange holding periods.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Redwood AI?

The financial picture adds urgency to the integration work ahead. In the fiscal third quarter ended May 31, 2026, Redwood reported a net loss of 0.53 million Canadian dollars on an annualized basis — a 394.5 percent widening from the comparable year-ago period. The newly signed marketing expenditures pile onto that cost base before any evidence emerges that they will translate into customer activity.

Rwanda Debut and a Volatile Tape

Redwood's next public moment comes on August 27, when it presents at the official launch event of the Rwanda Wastewater and Environmental Surveillance Community of Practice, an invitation extended by the Rwanda Biomedical Centre. The presentation will focus on AI-powered bio-surveillance analytics, a field that extends beyond the quantum security division and underscores the company's portfolio diversification efforts.

The market, meanwhile, continues to swing violently. Friday's session closed at 1.09 euro, a 30 percent daily gain, and the stock is up 24 percent on the week. Yet the 30-day picture shows a 32 percent decline, and the shares remain roughly 84 percent below their 52-week high of 6.66 euro, reached in late April. The stock touched its 52-week low of 0.81 euro on August 13 — the very day the deal officially closed. Annualized 30-day volatility stands at 146 percent, a figure that captures just how unsettled trading has become.

The August 7 session offered a preview of the skepticism building around smaller AI names, with the stock falling 3.36 percent as investors grew more critical of valuations in the sector. Redwood's inclusion in the CSE25 Index in early July — a benchmark tracking the 25 largest companies on the Canadian Securities Exchange by market capitalization — signals that the company has gained scale even as its share price struggles.

Whether the marketing push and the Kigali appearance can restore investor confidence is an open question. The milestone-based structure of the Quantum.IQ earn-out means full dilution only materializes if the new subsidiary delivers on its targets — a design that gives Redwood some breathing room. But with losses widening and the stock trading at a fraction of its springtime peak, the company now faces the harder task of converting its expanded portfolio into revenue that the market can believe in.
