Plug Power's $134 Million Cash Pile Faces Two November Tests as Analysts Cut Targets
Published on 10/17/2026 at 16:01 | Editorial boerse-global.dePlug Power shares slid 6.3% on Friday to close at EUR 1.24, touching a fresh 52-week low of EUR 1.21 along the way, as a sour mood across US equity markets weighed on the hydrogen specialist. The retreat came without any company-specific news, with tech names leading the broader pullback on Wall Street amid doubts about the durability of heavy spending on artificial intelligence, according to AP.
The move leaves the stock hovering just above its yearly trough and sets a nervous backdrop for a busy November, when management must defend its growth story twice in the space of ten days.
Preliminary Numbers Point to Faster Growth
Plug Power has already offered a first look at its third quarter of 2026 through unaudited preliminary figures. Revenue is expected to have grown by more than 10% year on year, while the gross margin is also trending higher compared with the same period a year earlier. For the full year 2026, the company reiterated its guidance of roughly 15% to 16% revenue growth.
Cash remains the number that matters most. Net cash burn for the quarter came in at about $28 million, leaving cash and cash equivalents of approximately $134 million at period end, excluding restricted balances. Management stressed that no fresh equity or debt was raised during the quarter, whether through the existing at-the-market programme or any other capital measure.

Two Dates Circled in Red
The full third-quarter results are due on 9 November 2026, released after the US market close, with a conference call scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET. Ten days later, on 19 November 2026, the company hosts its annual Global Plug Symposium, where investors will be listening for detail on technological progress and how management intends to position the business in the years ahead.
Wall Street Trims Its Sights
Ahead of the weekend, two research houses marked down their price targets. David Arcaro of Morgan Stanley cut his to $1.20 from $1.65 while keeping an Underweight rating, pointing to muted long-term expectations for the commercial rollout of hydrogen technology and to headwinds from a higher interest rate environment. Susquehanna's Biju Perincheril lowered his target to $1.75 from $2.50 but maintained a Neutral stance on the stock.
Insider Filing Adds to the Noise
Separately, a Form 144 notice filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission disclosed that Benjamin Haycraft intends to sell 9,375 shares of common stock under an existing trading plan. The filing records the intent to sell and does not confirm that any transaction has taken place.
