Partners Group Wins Fresh Credit Mandates as SICAV Fee Vote Looms
Published on 10/24/2026 at 06:51 | Editorial boerse-global.dePartners Group has pulled in a further USD 510 million from US insurance companies for its private-credit evergreen strategy, closing the second rated feeder vehicle of the year and lifting total capital raised through such structures in 2026 to USD 875 million. The same period has produced a pair of developments pointing in a different direction: proposed fee relief for holders of the Global Value SICAV, which still needs their approval, and a Bloomberg report of cut or reassigned positions in the private-equity unit, attributed to weaker legacy portfolios and rising redemption requests on evergreen products.
The financing close is a concrete sign of demand from this investor group for the credit strategy. It says nothing about other products. Capital raising and redemption requests are separate events and should not be netted against each other — nor should the inflow be read as an all-clear for the wider franchise.
Fee relief comes in two different shapes
Under the SICAV proposal, reported by media, holders of the distributing sub-fund would pay at least 25 basis points less for three years — a floor on the reduction as well as a defined duration. The accumulating sub-fund is structured differently: there the commitment is a possible maximum cut of up to 75 basis points through 1 January 2030, not the same minimum relief offered in the distributing variant. That distinction matters when weighing the proposal.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Partners Group?
Shareholders must also approve the planned umbrella structure alongside the fee changes. The vote is scheduled for the week beginning 9 November, making it the next concrete decision point for the overhaul. Until then the fee relief remains a proposal requiring consent, whereas the rated-feeder capital is already in hand.
Targets are not yet results
Launched roughly two weeks ago, the global multi-sector credit strategy extends the firm's offering to institutional investors and private-wealth clients. Partners Group is targeting high-single-digit to low-double-digit percentage returns, to be generated predominantly from running income. The mandate spans direct lending, credit secondaries, fund financing and royalties — a description of intended allocation rather than evidence of what the strategy will actually deliver. Target yield and realised performance have to be kept apart in any assessment.
Stock purchases by management members around two weeks ago belong in the same category. According to media reports, they invested roughly CHF 21 million of their own money in Partners Group shares. That documents personal financial commitment, but it does not answer the questions surrounding the older portfolios.
What actually carries weight
The durable positive finding is the capital raised in the credit business. The counterweight is the reported strain on legacy holdings and redemption pressure. Neither cancels the other out, and collapsing them into a single verdict on the whole business would blur signals that deserve to be read separately. For investors in Partners Group, a granular view of each business and product line is more informative than a blanket call of recovery.
