OHB Eyes November Nine-Month Report as Satellite Wins and Ownership Shift Reshape the Story

Bremen's OHB SE is steering toward its next major disclosure, with the space and technology group scheduled to publish its nine-month report on 12 November 2026, accompanied by a conference call for analysts and investors. The announcement lands as the stock trades around 158.00 euros, having slipped 1.9% on the day, with no company-specific trigger behind the move.
The softer tone in the shares tracks the broader small-cap backdrop rather than any fresh corporate development. After earlier gains, Germany's SDAX turned negative, and OHB's stock ranked among the index's weakest performers. Market participants used the weaker index trend for modest profit-taking, following a stretch in which European equities had been shaped by uncertainty in the technology sector. In the prior session, the stock shed 2.0% to close at 157.80 euros.
ATHENE-1 Reaches Orbit With 22 Experiments Aboard
On the operational front, OHB has logged a successful mission. The ATHENE-1 technology demonstrator, developed and built by subsidiary LuxSpace together with the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, reached low Earth orbit on 1 October as part of the Transporter-18 flight, launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket. The small satellite now serves as a host platform for 22 scientific experiments, showcasing the group's capabilities in compact satellite payloads.
Just days earlier, on 29 September, OHB secured a research contract from the European Space Agency. A consortium led by the company won the nod for a feasibility study on a future European-operated outpost in near-Earth orbit. ESA awarded a comparable review contract to a consortium headed by Airbus Defence and Space. Both awards are preparatory concept studies, not a formal decision to build a space station.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying OHB SE?
RFA Leadership Change and a Saab Alliance
OHB is also pressing ahead with its launch vehicle ambitions. At subsidiary Rocket Factory Augsburg, Alexander Dahm took over the leadership from Prof. Dr. Indulis Kalnins. As CEO, Dahm is responsible for further development and for steering the RFA ONE rocket toward its maiden flight. Roughly two weeks ago, OHB Sweden signed a letter of intent with Saab covering closer cooperation on space-based defense capabilities. The arrangement explores integrating satellite platforms from the Swedish subsidiary into Saab's systems, though financial terms were not disclosed.
These partnerships and technology projects form central building blocks for the group's future market positioning. Beyond scientific and institutional missions, commercial and security-related contracts are gaining importance for European space companies. Expanding in-house launch capacity and smaller satellite platforms is intended to underpin those market opportunities over the long term.
KKR's Stake: From 28.6% to Around 20%
The shareholder structure has shifted over the course of the year. Investment firm KKR does not act as a parent company; through Orchid Lux HoldCo S.à r.l. it holds a pure minority stake. KKR entered in 2023 with roughly 28.6%, then reduced its holding to around 20% during the June capital increase, according to the group's half-year report dated 6 August. In that transaction, KKR appeared as a seller of existing shares, while the issuance proceeds came from new investors. The Fuchs family continues to hold the majority of the Bremen-based group.
Upcoming quarterly figures should shed light on how these strategic steps feed through to earnings.
