Nvidia's push to underwrite the AI build-out now stretches from equity stakes to credit backstops and prepayments for testing capacity — a widening financial footprint that is drawing as much scrutiny as the technology itself. The shares fell 2.6% on Friday, caught in a broad selloff across technology and chip names after disappointing quarterly results from Intel and Amazon sharpened worries about AI spending and its profitability, according to Reuters.

Financing Talks Add a New Dimension

The Information reported Friday that Nvidia is discussing credit guarantees worth billions of dollars to support debt financing for Nscale, tied to a data center that Anthropic intends to use. No agreement had been signed, and the terms could still change. The distinction between talks and a binding commitment matters: the potential support is neither a completed financing nor a secured additional order for Nvidia, though it would draw the company deeper into funding the infrastructure build-out.

Wedbush said Friday that such credit support could keep AI infrastructure financing flowing and underpin demand for Nvidia products. The assessment addressed the reported talks and did not constitute a change to a rating or price target. Against that potential demand support sits the uncertainty over whether a deal is reached at all.

Meta and Oracle Deals Blend Demand With Capital

Nvidia and Meta announced on October 27 an expanded collaboration on Meta's Muse model family and AI infrastructure. Nvidia also said it intends to invest $3 billion in Meta's stock offering, while Meta plans to broaden its use of Nvidia infrastructure, including Vera Rubin systems. The arrangement pairs a planned technology rollout with a capital commitment from Nvidia — the announced stake should not be read as realized revenue.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nvidia?

A day earlier, on October 26, Nvidia had disclosed the $3 billion Meta investment plan alongside joint work on training and running the Muse models. With Oracle, the two companies said on October 27 they would scale Oracle Cloud Infrastructure superclusters built on Vera Rubin NVL72 systems to a multi-gigawatt footprint, with those systems and Vera processors becoming generally available on the platform.

Supply Chain Bets Bind More Cash

Nvidia is providing a $1.1 billion prepayment to reserve capacity at new KYEC testing facilities in the US. Agreements announced October 21 are also meant to lift substrate capacity 2.5-fold within three years. The build-out therefore reaches beyond finished systems into upstream production and testing — support for the planned infrastructure expansion, though the announcements say nothing about the returns those commitments will eventually generate.

Part of the same package is Amkor's plan to expand capacity for advanced chip packaging by more than 300% by the end of 2028. These are expansion targets, not additional capacity already fully available.

Antitrust Review and Earnings Loom as Tests

Alongside the investment pledges, a proposed acquisition is under the microscope. Reuters reported Wednesday that the US Department of Justice has asked questions about Nvidia's planned $12.93 billion purchase of Hugging Face, focusing on possible competitive effects and control of a key AI distribution channel. Nvidia declined to comment. The inquiries signal neither a prohibition nor a completed transaction, but they add a regulatory dimension to the economic questions.

The next scheduled earnings date is November 17, 2026, when Nvidia will discuss the third quarter of fiscal 2027 — a period that ended October 25. That call offers investors the next concrete occasion to weigh the announced expansion plans against actual business performance. What counts is not only the size of the partnerships but their economic reflection in the numbers.
