Two brokers moved in opposite directions on Novo Nordisk this week, and a share sale by the company's top scientist has given investors one more variable to weigh against a freshly raised outlook.

UBS trimmed its price target on the Danish drugmaker to DKK 312 from DKK 332 while keeping a Neutral rating, according to media reports. Nordea went the other way, lifting its target to DKK 390 from DKK 380 and reiterating a Buy. Neither house changed its recommendation.

The split verdicts landed as the stock gave up ground in the session following third-quarter results, with growth worries for 2027 and cautious analyst commentary cited as drags. The shares had risen on the day the numbers were published. On Wednesday, they showed a daily move of -4.1%.

Insider Transaction Adds a Second Signal

Martin Holst Lange, Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer, sold 12,000 B shares at DKK 285.00 apiece on Wednesday, according to media reports. The disclosure sharpens a question already facing shareholders: how much weight to place on an improved adjusted earnings picture when the reported result carries substantial charges.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Novo Nordisk?

The quarter offered evidence for both readings. Adjusted operating profit rose 27% at constant currencies to DKK 31,720 million, outpacing revenue, which came in at DKK 79,195 million and grew 4% at constant currencies. The obesity business expanded 22%.

Reported operating profit, by contrast, fell 9% at constant currencies, a decline that included non-cash impairment charges of DKK 8.7 billion. Bridging that gap — and showing that extra business still converts into disproportionate profit — is the test investors face.

Guidance Raised on GLP-1 Demand

Novo Nordisk lifted its full-year 2026 forecasts for adjusted sales growth and adjusted operating profit growth to a range of minus 2% to plus 2% at constant currencies, for both measures. The prior guidance had spanned a decline of as much as 6% to unchanged levels. Higher expected GLP-1 sales drove the revision, with demand for obesity medicines and uptake of the Wegovy tablet among the contributors.

Even the improved corridor still permits a decline, leaving room to the downside that cautious investors will factor in alongside the more favorable expectation.

Washington Data Docket Next

The next fundamental checkpoint arrives at ObesityWeek, running November 14–17 in Washington, where Novo Nordisk has said it will present data from 26 abstracts. The contributions, announced about a week ago, cover CagriSema as well as Wegovy in both tablet and injectable forms. Also on the agenda are findings from real-world clinical practice and data on semaglutide in children aged six to under twelve — an application still in testing.

For the bulls, confirmation of the raised guidance through subsequent business figures matters more than any single insider filing; for the skeptics, the impairments keep the burden of proof on the adjusted numbers.
