Nestlé Holds Guidance After Solid Quarter as UBS Stays on the Sidelines
Published on 11/07/2026 at 03:52 | Editorial boerse-global.deUBS left its neutral rating on Nestlé untouched on 22 October, even as the Swiss food giant delivered a third quarter that beat expectations. The brokerage did nudge its price target up from CHF 81 to CHF 82, but analysts saw nothing in the business performance to justify a more constructive stance, according to dpa-AFX.
The restraint contrasts with the market's warmer initial reception. Reuters reported share gains following the quarterly release roughly two weeks ago, when Nestlé posted CHF 22.756 billion in third-quarter 2026 sales. Organic growth came in at 4.0%, with real internal growth (RIG) contributing 2.8 percentage points. Chief executive said the RIG measure was positive across every zone and globally managed business.
Guidance intact, cash flow in focus
Management reaffirmed its full-year 2026 outlook alongside the numbers: organic growth of 3% to 4%, free cash flow above CHF 9 billion, and an anticipated improvement in the underlying operating margin versus 2025.
The stock gave back some of its earlier gains on Thursday, when it had traded higher during the session. On the day of writing, the shares were down 1.2%, with media reports pointing to pressure across a weaker Swiss market. The softness followed weak US leads, where a sell-off in AI stocks took hold after the congressional election.

Portfolio pruning continues
Nestlé also moved ahead with tidying its portfolio, completing the sale of British recipe-box business SimplyCook to Jardox, a UK supplier of ingredients and flavourings. The company framed the disposal as part of efforts to sharpen its business portfolio.
On the partnership front, Nestlé was named official Silver Partner of Swiss-Ski for three years, a deal announced on 29 October. The Cailler, Thomy and Nescafé brands will feature across various snow sports and at events, and the tie-up includes backing for young talent. No contract value was disclosed.
US production shift and local initiatives
Operationally, Nestlé USA told employees on 19 October that it will close its Solon, Ohio plant by the end of 2027, according to media reports. Production of Nestlé Professional Solutions pouches is to be shifted gradually to Gaffney, South Carolina.
