Nebius Stock: Twice-a-Quarter Price Hikes Signal a New Balance of Power in AI Infrastructure

Something unusual is happening in the economics of artificial intelligence. While the industry's conventional wisdom holds that scale inevitably drives prices down, one infrastructure provider is proving the opposite — and its customers are paying up without complaint.
Nebius is set to raise on-demand rental rates for select Nvidia accelerators starting October 1. An hour on the H100 will cost $4.50, while the newer B300 commands $9.50. CPU-only instances running AMD processors are climbing 25%, and specialized memory offerings are jumping 41%. It marks the second time in three months that the company has turned the pricing screw, with surcharges reaching as high as 21%.
That kind of pricing power would be unthinkable in traditional IT, where margins compress as capacity grows. AI infrastructure, for now, operates under different rules. Order visibility stretches beyond 24 months, with some customer reservations booked into the second quarter of 2028. A portion of scarce Blackwell capacity is now allocated through auctions, where winning bids land well above reserve levels.
Microsoft, Meta, and Palantir Lock In Billions
The explanation lies in scarcity. Heavyweights including Microsoft and Meta, along with strategic partner Palantir, are securing capacity worth billions — not out of preference, but because alternatives are thin. Nvidia itself holds a stake of more than 9% in Nebius, which sits atop a bottleneck that conventional cloud architectures cannot dissolve overnight.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nebius?
The Palantir tie-up, unveiled alongside management's appearance at the Citi Global TMT Conference, will see Nebius supply AI-native computing infrastructure and cloud services to Palantir's commercial customers, including a Sovereign-AI stack. Management used the same platform to lay out its expansion roadmap and future capital requirements.
Those requirements are substantial. Second-quarter revenue surged 454% to $582.3 million, according to media reports citing Reuters, which attributed the beat to sustained demand for specialized AI compute, larger contract wins, and higher prices. The balance sheet tells the other half of the story: $775 million in secured loans in July were followed by a convertible bond of roughly $5.75 billion in August. Across the industry, the race to build AI infrastructure is shifting from pure equity financing toward heavy debt issuance — a path rival CoreWeave is walking as well.
A Volatile Ride Higher
For now, the arithmetic works. Customers absorb every price increase, demand services the interest, and cash flows feed the hardware appetite. Investors have taken note: the stock closed yesterday at EUR 189.64, a gain of 3.8% on the day, extending its year-to-date advance to 158% and placing Nebius among the most conspicuous winners in the European technology sector.
The rebound follows a broad pullback across the neocloud sector that had temporarily dragged Nebius shares lower before the countermovement took hold. Even so, volatility remains a defining feature of the stock's journey, with debates over future relationships with chipmakers such as Nvidia underscoring how sensitively the market reacts to shifts in the data-center ecosystem.
Whether the current upswing holds depends largely on how quickly Nebius can bring new capacity to market profitably and balance its hardware dependencies. The deeper question — whether a boom financed by steep price adjustments is durable — will only be answered when the supply of top-tier chips finally catches up with seemingly endless demand.
