Nebius has spent months as one of the market's most talked-about AI infrastructure plays, and the stock's 196% climb since the start of the year explains why. What makes the story more interesting is the collision now unfolding: a business confident enough to push through double-digit price increases, and a famous investor betting that the bill for all that growth is coming due.

Raising Rates Into Red-Hot Demand

Few signals demonstrate pricing power more clearly than a company telling customers it will charge more. Nebius announced it will lift prices for Nvidia graphics processors by 17% to 21% and for AMD chips by 25%, effective October 1. For an infrastructure provider to adjust tariffs that aggressively, demand must be running well ahead of supply.

The market has already rewarded that momentum. The shares have gained 194% year to date, and the operational numbers back up the enthusiasm. Second-quarter 2026 revenue reached $582.3 million, up from $105.1 million a year earlier, with the AI Cloud segment alone expanding 514%. A string of large computing-capacity contracts fueled the surge.

Wall Street Turns More Bullish

Analysts are taking notice. BNP Paribas upgraded the stock to "Outperform" yesterday and sharply raised its price target from $260 to $399. The bank projects an annualized revenue run rate of roughly $22 billion by the end of 2027.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nebius?

Adding credibility to the growth story, Nebius sealed a strategic alliance with Palantir on September 8, positioning itself as the preferred infrastructure partner for sovereign AI projects. Having a heavyweight like Palantir rely on the group's computing and inference capacity lends considerable weight to a still-young business model.

Insiders Trim, Burry Bets Against

Not everyone is convinced. Michael Burry expanded his short positions in Nebius Group N.V. on Tuesday, according to media reports, while also targeting Micron, Palantir and the SOXX sector index. Market participants read the move as a deliberate wager against the valuation expansion sweeping the semiconductor and AI space.

Company insiders have been selling as well. Roughly two weeks ago, Chief Revenue Officer Marc Boroditsky disposed of 7,000 shares, and a day later Director John Wilson Boynton IV sold 6,364 shares. Executive-level transactions like these tend to sharpen caution after a prolonged rally.

The $250 Billion Question

The bull case runs straight into the cost of building it out. Nebius is targeting five gigawatts of capacity by 2030, a plan carrying an estimated investment of $250 billion — of which about $200 billion has yet to be financed. The second quarter closed with a net loss of $190.4 million, alongside persistently negative free cash flow and rising liabilities.

That funding burden is central to Burry's thesis. He is betting that memory-chip scarcity eases over the medium term and valuation premiums compress. A company leaning this heavily on external capital is exposed to any shift in interest rates or market conditions.

Nebius at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

Where the Stock Stands

The shares currently trade at EUR 217.60, roughly 17% below their 52-week high — a consolidation at elevated levels rather than a breakdown. Near term, the October price increases and the Palantir partnership should support margins. Over the longer haul, demand for AI compute shows no sign of fading.

The open issue is financing. Until the $200 billion gap is credibly addressed, the risk side of the ledger carries real weight, and investors would be wise to track the cash flow trajectory closely.
