EUMAM MOZ welcomed H.E. the Portuguese Ambassador to Mozambique

BRUSSELS, 11 December 2024 / PRN Africa / -- ?Yesterday, the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) welcomed H.E.the Portuguese Ambassador to Mozambique, António Costa Moura. Accompanied by his delegation, the ambassador was received by the EUMAM MOZ´s Mission Force Commander, Brigadier General Luís Barroso.

In addition to the Portuguese Ambassador to Mozambique, the delegation included the Consul General of Portugal in Maputo, Fernando Morgado, the Minister Counsellor, Rita San Payo Araújo, the Liaison Officer of the Portuguese Ministry of Internal Affairs Colonel Tavares Duarte and Sergeant-Major Hugo Leitão.

During his speech, the Ambassador expressed to Portuguese Contingent his deep gratitude for their service and emphasised the crucial role played by each one of them in strengthening security and stability in the region. He wished them all the best in their future endeavours and also took the opportunity to wish a happy holiday season.

The visit culminated in a working meeting, where strategic points on future challenges in the context of international co-operation were discussed.

This visit underlines Portugal's continued commitment to regional security and support to the European Union´s initiatives in Mozambique.
