Local EU Heads of Missions statement on the Presidential runoff in Liberia

BRUSSELS, 18 November 2023 / PRN Africa / -- The EU and its Member States present in Liberia (Germany, Ireland, France, Sweden) applaud the people of Liberia for their strong commitment to democracy and peace. The National Elections Commission and electoral staff throughout the country conducted the process efficiently and with great transparency, Joint Security ensured calm throughout the period. Following the peaceful Presidential runoff elections held on 14 November, we commend President Weah for his exemplary concession call and congratulate President-elect Boakai on his victory.

The EU and its Member States are looking forward to continue their longstanding cooperation with Liberia for sustainable and inclusive growth and development.
