Lenzing's Nearly Fully Subscribed Rights Issue Awaits Court Registration Before October 23 Trading Debut
Published on 10/21/2026 at 08:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deLenzing's capital increase has drawn overwhelming demand, but the finishing line is not yet crossed. The preliminary subscription result published yesterday shows 34,411,626 new shares taken up — an exercise rate of 99.0% against a total offering of 34,756,362 shares, at a subscription price of EUR 8.65 apiece.
What remains is small in size but essential in sequence. The consortium banks are to place the unsubscribed shares on the market, and trading in all new shares on the Prime Market of the Vienna Stock Exchange is scheduled for October 23. That date, however, is not unconditional: settlement, delivery and the start of trading hinge on the capital increase being entered in the commercial register. Investors should therefore treat the preliminary subscription figure as one stage and the completed transaction as another.
Syndicate and board participation already inside the headline number
Among the shares subscribed, 18,159,291 were taken up by the syndicate comprising B&C-Gruppe and Suzano S.A., according to an APA report. Those shares are already counted within the total subscription result — they do not come on top of it. Board-level participation is also on record: Georg Kasperkovitz and Christian Skilich exercised subscription rights on October 12, transactions that document both executives' involvement in the offering but carry no standalone forecast for the stock.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Lenzing?
A high take-up rate speaks to acceptance of the rights offer. It says nothing about revenue, earnings or the future direction of the share price. Nor does it answer how the operating business is performing — a question that requires the company's own figures rather than the outcome of a financing measure.
A pre-market slide and a separate calendar date
The stock showed a pre-market change of -5.7% today, a move that sits alongside the strong subscription result without any clear link between the mandatory disclosure and the price action being derivable from the two. What does lie ahead on the calendar is more concrete: Lenzing has scheduled November 5 for publication of its third-quarter 2026 results.
That gives a clear order of events for shareholders. First comes the intended trading of the new shares, subject to the register entry. Then the quarterly report provides the next announced occasion to assess operating performance. The 99.0% subscription rate is a firm placement outcome — but it is no yardstick for profitability.
