Lenovo shares closed Friday at EUR 3.11, up 2.1%, as the hardware maker began worldwide shipments of Nvidia's Vera Rubin NVL72 server architecture and folded the full platform into its AI Cloud Gigafactory. The dual announcement served as the main catalyst for the stock's latest rebound, which was reinforced by a broader stabilization in technology equities after earlier selling pressure had weighed on the sector.

The advance extends a striking run: since the start of the year, the stock has gained 202%. Even so, the share price remains 26% below its 52-week high of EUR 4.21, reached in mid-September — a reminder of how wide the stock's trading range has been. During Asian hours in Hong Kong, the stock had already staged a sharp 8% countermovement.

Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang added fuel to the rally by explicitly naming Lenovo as one of the US chipmaker's corporate partners. The endorsement dovetails with a string of operational announcements from the Chinese hardware group.

AI Express Targets 15-Day Delivery

On Thursday, Lenovo unveiled AI Express, a program developed jointly with Nvidia that offers customers qualified configurations for AI infrastructure. The initiative aims to compress the span from order intake to delivery to as little as 15 working days, addressing corporate clients' growing need for computing capacity that can be deployed quickly.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Lenovo?

Lenovo is also pushing into adjacent segments, with integration of its system for autonomous trucks slated for the first quarter of 2027. And early that same year, the company will showcase its technology roadmap: Lenovo Tech World is scheduled for January 6, 2027, at CES in Las Vegas, with a focus on its positioning in hybrid AI.

First-Quarter Results Underpin the Pivot

Operational momentum is lending support to market interest. In the first quarter, total revenue climbed 43% year on year to USD 26.9 billion, while adjusted net profit jumped 176% to USD 1.1 billion. AI-related revenue was the principal engine, growing 60% from a year earlier to USD 9.3 billion. The combination of double-digit top-line growth and a marked margin improvement underscores the manufacturer's shift toward high-margin server infrastructure.

Analysts have taken note. On October 9, DBS Bank raised its price target on Lenovo from HKD 60 to HKD 71 while keeping its "Buy" rating, citing the growth prospects in the AI server solutions segment.

The recent initiatives in the data-center and enterprise business highlight the group's ambition to act as an equipment supplier for complex computing architectures well beyond its traditional PC business. How durable that transformation proves for margin development will depend on actual demand for the joint system configurations with Nvidia in the quarters ahead.
