Lenovo is widening its international marketing footprint through Asian sport, announcing on Monday that its Japan unit will serve as an official supplier to the 20th Asian Games and the 5th Asian Para Games. Under the Tier-4 supplier arrangement, the company will provide PC equipment along with supporting services and solutions for the competitions.

The move follows a partnership struck a day earlier with the Olympic Council of Asia, aimed at helping shape the future of technology-enabled sport. By putting its computing systems to work at major events, Lenovo gets to showcase their capabilities in front of a global audience — a useful shop window as it seeks to entrench its market position across its entire product portfolio.

Gaming and Consumer Hardware Take Center Stage in Tokyo

That sports-driven visibility push runs parallel to a broader product offensive on the consumer side. At the Tokyo Game Show 2026, held at Makuhari Messe from September 17 to 21, Lenovo is presenting its Lenovo Legion line of gaming computers. Visitors can try out a dedicated test area set up in cooperation with the action title "Onimusha: Way of the Sword."

The Tokyo appearance extends a run of launches that began earlier in September at the IFA trade fair, where the group staged Lenovo Innovation World and rolled out new models for both business and consumer customers. The commercial lineup included devices featuring hybrid artificial intelligence as well as security solutions for enterprises. On the consumer side, Lenovo unveiled advances to its Yoga range: two laptops powered by NVIDIA RTX Spark processors and two stylus tablets. It also showed a concept study called Lenovo Smart Canvas and new functions for its Lenovo Qira system, with the portfolio designed to deliver individualized user experiences through integrated systems. Specialized gaming machines and higher-end notebooks let the company target more profitable niches and answer demand for powerful computers built for graphics-heavy and creative workloads.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Lenovo?

Record Quarter Underpins the Momentum

All of this rests on a business that is firing on multiple cylinders. In the opening quarter of fiscal 2026/27, Lenovo booked group revenue of USD 26.9 billion, up 43 percent from a year earlier — the strongest quarter in the company's history, according to management. Every business segment posted record operating profit. Adjusted net profit also climbed sharply, reaching USD 1.1 billion and crossing the billion-dollar mark for the first time.

The acceleration is driven chiefly by sustained demand for modern data-center equipment, reinforcing the strategic bet on higher-margin enterprise solutions alongside the traditional end-customer business. Artificial intelligence remains a key growth engine: AI-related revenue rose 60 percent year on year to USD 9.3 billion, already accounting for 35 percent of total group revenue. The Infrastructure Solutions Group was especially dynamic, with revenue jumping 98 percent to USD 8.5 billion while its operating profit hit a record USD 777 million.

External recognition has followed. Market researcher IDC ranked Lenovo first worldwide for x86 server shipments in the second quarter, and in mid-September the Hang Seng Indexes Company upgraded the company to an ESG rating of AAA. Roughly two weeks ago, upgrades from investment banks added further tailwind.
