Lenovo is wasting no time in broadening its footprint beyond the hardware business that built its name. Over the past several days the Chinese technology group has rolled out a pair of high-profile partnerships and refreshed its data-center lineup, all while riding the momentum of a quarterly performance that shattered its own records.

The most recent move came on Monday, when Lenovo unveiled a collaboration with Schneider Electric aimed at giving IT channel partners specialized tools and expertise for decarbonization. Under the arrangement, resellers gain access to instruments and know-how designed to cut CO2 emissions and promote more sustainable IT infrastructure.

That announcement dovetails with Lenovo's strong showing in environmental rankings. On September 14 and 15, the company earned the top overall score among roughly 600 assessed firms, with its growth performance rated "Very High" at 87.51 points. According to Lenovo, the result reaffirmed leading positions it had already secured in 2022 and 2025.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Lenovo?

Sports Deals Extend the Company's Reach

Sustainability is only one pillar of the group's international push. On Sunday, the Olympic Council of Asia named Lenovo its official partner for solutions and services through 2030, with a clear emphasis on artificial intelligence to enable AI-driven sporting experiences at international competitions. A day later, the company was confirmed as the official supplier of PC equipment and related services for the 20th Asian Games and the 5th Para Asian Games, covering both hardware and on-site technical support.

The company had already moved to strengthen its enterprise offering on September 16, expanding its ThinkAgile infrastructure portfolio alongside enhanced Express solutions and implementation services. The update responds to growing demand for flexible IT environments, giving customers more choice and greater resilience in managing their computing capacity.

Record Quarter Underpins the Strategy

These initiatives rest on a financial foundation that has rarely looked stronger. In the first quarter of fiscal 2026/27, Lenovo's revenue climbed 43 percent year over year to a record 26.9 billion US dollars, with every business segment contributing all-time highs in both sales and operating profit. Adjusted net income jumped 176 percent to 1.1 billion US dollars over the same period — the first time the group has crossed the billion-dollar mark in an opening quarter.

The stock closed yesterday at EUR 4.04, easing 1.6 percent in the session. Even after that modest pullback, the shares remain just 4.3 percent below their recent 52-week high and have gained 292 percent over the past year. Investors now have the next key date circled: according to media reports, Lenovo will publish its next business report on October 29.
