Keychron has refreshed its M6 8K computer mouse, unveiling the revised version on 2 October 2026 with changes aimed squarely at people who spend their working day at a desk — and at the colleagues sitting nearby.

Word of the update first surfaced on 1 October 2026 via the specialist outlet gamezoom.net, which reported that the manufacturer's tweaks centre on ergonomics and acoustics for everyday workplace use. The headline change is a set of quieter side buttons. Keychron has also reworked the scroll wheel mechanically and revised the middle click.

Why a mouse click becomes an office issue

Peripheral noise has grown into a genuine consideration in modern workplaces — open-plan offices, or a home office where calls happen back to back. Loud clicking can wear down concentration and works against the acoustic ergonomics of a workstation. The modifications to the M6 8K's side buttons are intended to cut that acoustic load noticeably during regular use.

At the same time, the reworked scroll wheel and middle click are meant to sharpen tactile feedback and make navigation more dependable when working through long documents, spreadsheets and source code. Beyond the primary wheel, the mouse carries two scroll wheels, which simplifies horizontal and vertical movement within an application window and reduces detours to on-screen scrollbars.

Sensor specs and selectable polling rates

Inside, Keychron uses the PixArt PAW3950 sensor. It delivers a maximum sensitivity of up to 30,000 DPI and a tracking speed of 750 IPS.

On polling rate, the model supports up to 8,000 Hz, both when connected by cable and over a wireless 2.4 GHz link. Alongside the 8,000 Hz top variant, Keychron offers the mouse in 1,000 Hz and 4,000 Hz versions.

For professional workstations, a high-frequency signal translates into smoother pointer movement on modern displays with high refresh rates. Depending on the task at hand and the hardware in use, buyers can pick the sampling rate that fits their scenario and avoid burning system resources unnecessarily.

Three connection modes, five stored profiles

To suit flexible workplace arrangements, the mouse handles three operating modes: low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless, a direct USB-C cable connection, and Bluetooth.

Through Bluetooth, users can switch straight between as many as three different devices. That makes it easy to move between a desktop PC, a laptop or additional work devices without juggling multiple mice or swapping cables.

Up to five onboard profiles can be stored permanently in the mouse's internal memory, so settings and button assignments survive a change of computer. For configuration, Keychron supplies a browser-based launcher that runs across Windows, macOS and Linux, removing the need to install local companion software. The device comes in a choice of black or white.
