JinkoSolar's 30-Gigawatt Order Book Meets a Securities Probe and a Fresh 52-Week Low

JinkoSolar finds itself in the uncomfortable position of proving its commercial strength at precisely the moment investors have stopped rewarding it. While the Chinese solar manufacturer keeps stacking up module orders and project wins across Europe and Asia, its equity has become a case study in how quickly sentiment can decouple from operational reality.
Pomerantz Opens Inquiry Into Possible Securities Fraud
The legal front added a new layer of uncertainty this week. Law firm Pomerantz has launched a review into whether JinkoSolar's officers and directors ran afoul of US securities law and potentially misled market participants. Notably, nothing in the firm's disclosures suggests the probe was triggered by a fresh regulatory filing from the company itself, and no investigative findings have been made public. The allegations remain just that — accusations, not judicially established violations.
Adding to the nervous mood, a filing from the boardroom surfaced: Director Siew Wing Keong submitted a notice of intent on a Form 144 dated September 23, signaling plans to offload 45,000 American Depositary Shares. The submission is a declaration of intent to sell, not confirmation that any transaction has already cleared.
Capital Structure in Flux
Alongside the legal wrangling, the group's operating subsidiary, Jinko Solar Co., Ltd., is pressing ahead with changes to its share capital structure — a reorganization that runs parallel to the US scrutiny and gives shareholders another variable to weigh.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying JinkoSolar?
Order Momentum That the Market Refuses to Price In
On the commercial side, the picture looks considerably brighter. Cumulative orders for the company's latest-generation Tiger Neo 3.0 modules have now surpassed 30 gigawatts, according to company figures. Concrete project wins back that up: a 220-megawatt fishery-solar award at the Qingkou salt field in Lianyungang, China, and a 151-megawatt supply contract for a German ground-mounted installation.
Independent research reinforces the trend. TrendForce reports order intake exceeding 358 megawatts, including an 83.94-megawatt supply agreement in the United Kingdom. The market, however, is no longer paying for volume alone. Persistent margin pressure and global overcapacity have taken over the narrative, and a full order book in a deflationary pricing environment offers no guarantee of adequate profitability.
Storage Ambitions as a Counterweight
JinkoSolar is also trying to plant flags in adjacent niches. According to media reports, subsidiary Jinko ESS has reported progress on a battery storage portfolio totaling 220 megawatt-hours in Germany. Whether such storage projects can durably shore up investor confidence now depends heavily on how the US legal review unfolds.
A Share Price That Keeps Testing New Lows
The equity tells the story bluntly. The stock managed a modest gain of 0.6% on the day, changing hands at EUR 8.53, but the broader trajectory remains deeply negative. Year-to-date losses stand at 62%, and just yesterday the shares touched a fresh 52-week low of EUR 8.08. At current levels around EUR 8.49, the paper sits far below earlier valuation marks, and technical rebounds have repeatedly fizzled out in recent weeks.
The insider filing lands badly in an already jittery market. Formally it is nothing more than a notice of intent, yet in this climate even that detail is enough to feed existing doubts about a swift turnaround.
A Valuation Dilemma With No Quick Exit
What emerges is a classic disconnect: a company demonstrating an intact market position through module orders and project successes in Europe and Asia, set against a share price that reflects pure skepticism. Until those deliveries translate into a sustained recovery in earnings power — and with insider selling adding to caution — any rally looks fragile. The structural risks weighing on the solar sector appear likely to keep the gap between operational substance and market value wide for some time yet.
