IperionX Shares Jump as Army Contract Expansion and JPMorgan's Growing Stake Bolster Investor Confidence

The titanium specialist is getting a fresh look from investors this week, with shares climbing roughly 8% to €1.96 in Monday trading. The advance marks another step away from the stock's July lows and comes on the heels of a flurry of developments spanning Pentagon contracts, institutional backing, and a corporate restructuring aimed squarely at the US market.
Second Army Task Order Expands Defense Footprint
At the heart of the rally is a deepening relationship with the US military. IperionX has received its second task order under the existing SBIR Phase III agreement with the US Army, carrying a base value of $18.5 million. Should all options be exercised, that figure could swell to as much as $25.4 million, of which $11.5 million is already firmly committed and funded.
The cumulative value of the two task orders awarded to date now stands at roughly $19.8 million, while the overarching framework agreement with the Army represents a potential total of up to $99 million. The funding is earmarked for expanding domestic titanium component manufacturing for defense applications, with the company planning to invest in new equipment and production systems.
The strategic logic extends beyond simply fulfilling orders. By integrating critical production steps in-house, IperionX aims to compress lead times and reduce reliance on foreign suppliers. The company's proprietary process promises a more cost-effective route to titanium production than conventional methods, a selling point that resonates with Washington's push to secure domestic supply chains for strategically important metals.
JPMorgan Raises Stake as Lock-Up Periods Expire
Alongside the operational wins, the shareholder register has captured attention. Reports from late last week indicated that JPMorgan Chase has increased its position in the company. The move by one of the world's largest asset managers is being read by market participants as a vote of confidence in the long-term viability of IperionX's technology.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying IperionX?
Sunday also marked the expiration of holding periods on certain company securities, a technical development that could pave the way for altered trading dynamics in the sessions ahead.
Texas Relocation and Nasdaq Listing Plans Take Shape
The company is simultaneously executing a structural transformation designed to raise its profile in US capital markets. Having announced plans earlier this month to move its headquarters from Australia to Texas, IperionX intends to replace its American Depositary Share structure with a direct listing of common stock on the Nasdaq.
Supporting that transition is the recent appointment of Michael J. Loparco as an independent, non-executive board member. Loparco, a former CEO of Symbotic who also oversaw Electronics Manufacturing Services at Jabil, brings both public-market experience and industrial manufacturing credentials to the table — a combination the company views as critical for scaling up titanium production in its next phase.
Analyst Views Remain Split
Wall Street's take on the stock has been far from uniform. Jefferies initiated coverage last Wednesday with a buy rating and a $26 price target, citing robust titanium demand and the tailwinds of US industrial policy favoring domestic producers. That optimistic stance contrasts with Roth Capital, which trimmed its price target from $75 to $53 earlier this month.
The divergence in analyst thinking mirrors the stock's broader trajectory. Despite the recent bounce, shares remain roughly 37% below their level at the start of the year. Monday's gain has lifted the stock about 16% above its 52-week low of €1.69, reached on July 30, though it still sits well below the highs struck last October.
For now, the question hanging over IperionX is whether the combination of fresh government orders, institutional accumulation, and a cleaner US listing structure can finally reverse the longer-term downtrend. The pieces are in place; the market is waiting to see if the execution follows.
