IperionX's Cash Pile Shrinks Below Annual Loss as Titanium Ramp-Up Stays Revenue-Free

IperionX closed its fiscal year 2026 with a net loss of $66.8 million, more than double the $35.3 million shortfall recorded a year earlier — and with no revenue at all to offset it. The company generated zero sales across the twelve-month period, according to its freshly filed annual report, leaving the entire titanium buildout funded by its balance sheet rather than its customers.
That balance sheet is thinning. Cash and cash equivalents stood at $35.2 million as of June 30, 2026, a figure that sits well below the net loss accumulated during the year and underscores just how capital-hungry the current expansion has become.
Virginia Plant Moves to Round-the-Clock Output
Operationally, the company has been pushing ahead. IperionX converted its Virginia facility to continuous 24/7 production and lifted nominal powder capacity from 125 tonnes per year to roughly 200 tonnes per year. The changes mark a tangible step up in industrial scale, even as the commercial payoff remains somewhere over the horizon.
Investors have yet to see evidence that the added tonnage translates into orders. That gap between industrial progress and financial results has become the central tension in the IperionX story.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying IperionX?
Analyst Targets Cut on Wider Loss, R&D Overshoot
B. Riley Securities trimmed its price target on the stock from $52 to $34 about a week ago, keeping a Buy rating in place. Analyst Fedor Shabalin pointed to a second-half net loss that came in higher than expected, along with research and development spending that overshot forecasts. The reduction followed a string of operational headlines that had briefly lifted sentiment: progress on GenX titanium production roughly three weeks ago, and a U.S. Army contract announced about a month earlier.
None of it held. Since the Army order, the shares have shed 24.3%, and the GenX update was followed by a 12.8% slide. The filing of the fiscal 2026 annual report did nothing to reverse the trend, nor did a routine disclosure of changes in director holdings.
A Stock Drifting Toward Its 52-Week Low
The selling has been relentless enough that even a session with no news at all was enough to knock the stock lower. On Tuesday the shares slipped 1.1% to EUR 1.51, while a separate reading of the session showed a decline of 4.3% to EUR 1.46 — either way, the price is now hovering uncomfortably close to its 52-week low of EUR 1.38. Year-to-date, the equity is down 52%.
What stands out is the absence of any identifiable trigger. No negative corporate announcement, no sector-wide shock — just persistent, grinding pressure that suggests investor patience has worn thin after a series of disappointments. When even bullish analysts slash their targets so aggressively, the market appears to weight that signal more heavily than the formal recommendation that accompanies it.
The question now is whether the expanded Virginia capacity can start converting into actual sales before the cash runway forces harder choices. Until management delivers hard financial proof, any technical bounce looks likely to fizzle as quickly as it arrives.
