Iovance Wins UBS Upgrade as Lung-Cancer Data and Dual November Catalysts Take Center Stage
Published on 11/03/2026 at 18:11 | Editorial boerse-global.deIovance Biotherapeutics drew fresh attention from the analyst community this week, with UBS lifting its price target on the biotech from $7 to $8 while keeping a "Neutral" rating. Investors responded by pushing the shares up 7.8% today, putting the stock's near-term direction squarely in the hands of the upcoming quarterly report.
The upgrade lands just days before Iovance is scheduled to publish third-quarter 2026 results and a business update on November 5, a date the company confirmed on October 27. Management has slated a webcast for 8:30 a.m. ET to walk through the numbers. UBS, for its part, projects Amtagvi revenue of $100 million for the quarter.
Not every analyst is leaning the same way. On Friday, Robert W. Baird's Colleen Kusy trimmed her price target to $9 from $11 while reaffirming a "Hold" rating — a revision that came on the heels of Iovance's updated lung-cancer data.
Those results, released Thursday from the Phase 2 IOV-LUN-202 trial, covered pretreated patients with non-squamous metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. The objective response rate came in at 24.6%, with 17 of the 69 participants responding to therapy. Iovance said the findings were consistent with previously reported data, though press accounts noted the shares came under heavy selling pressure following the disclosure.

A biomarker-defined subgroup delivered a far stronger signal. Among 22 patients who had never smoked or were former smokers and whose tumors carried neither KRAS nor HER2 mutations, the response rate reached 59.1%, with 13 of the 22 patients responding.
Iovance also confirmed that cohorts one and two have completed enrollment. Management views the body of evidence as supportive of a supplemental biologics license application — an sBLA — planned for 2027, positioning the filing as the next step in the broader development program.
November is shaping up as a busy month on two fronts. Alongside the earnings release, Iovance intends to begin enrolling patients in the biomarker-enriched POSITILITY cohort, which will evaluate Lifileucel in previously treated, non-squamous metastatic NSCLC.
Separately, the company rolled out clinical data on October 26 covering advanced soft-tissue sarcomas. In a pilot study of Lifileucel, the confirmed objective response rate stood at 50% among eight evaluable patients, and all four partial responses were still holding as of the September 9 data cutoff.
The stock has had a bruising stretch, shedding 45% over the past seven days — a backdrop that makes the November 5 update, and the accompanying business review, the next clear checkpoint for investors.
