Intertek stock climbed 1.2% on Thursday to EUR 69.80, a level that matches its 52-week high exactly. The advance comes as the testing and certification group rolls out new regulatory services while simultaneously laying the financial groundwork for its recommended takeover.

PFAS Verification Program Goes Live

On Tuesday, the company launched Green Leaf Mark Zero PFAS, a verification program aimed at brands and manufacturers that need to substantiate claims about the absence of PFAS in their products. The initiative covers roughly 770 targeted PFAS substances and also takes into account requirements governing total fluorine content.

The launch responds to tightening chemical regulations worldwide, which have left manufacturers scrambling to demonstrate compliance in time. Intertek's program is designed to help them document conformity for both regulators and retail partners, and it opens up additional activity in higher-margin segments for the group.

Accreditation Wins Across Consumer and Health Categories

Intertek has been expanding its regulatory testing capacity on several fronts. On September 22, it was approved as an accredited certification body under the Global Retailer and Manufacturer Alliance's GMP program, covering three defined segments: dietary supplements, cosmetics and over-the-counter medications. In these categories, the company can now issue its own certifications under the alliance's guidelines and guide manufacturers through the relevant quality criteria.

A day later, on September 23, the group secured full accreditation as a certification body of the Global Retailer and Manufacturer Alliance. It had already gained approval as a verifier from the Health Product Declaration Collaborative on September 15.

Financing Presentation Tied to Recommended Cash Offer

Beyond day-to-day operations, preparations for the planned transaction are moving ahead. On September 17, Isotope Bidco Limited published a presentation for lenders covering the long-term financing of the recommended acquisition of Intertek. The disclosure identifies Isotope Bidco Limited as a company indirectly owned by funds managed by EQT as well as other investors. EQT Fund Management also released a lender presentation on September 17 in connection with the recommended final cash offer for Intertek by Isotope Bidco Limited.

While the ownership question shapes how the market values the business, Intertek continues to widen its certification and testing footprint.

Marine Unit Adds Tide Atlas and Cable Protection Roles

Intertek Metoc, the group's marine specialist, picked up fresh mandates. On September 18, it won a contract from the Milford Haven port authority to update a tidal atlas for the local waterway. That same day, Intertek Metoc joined the International Cable Protection Committee, an organization focused on safeguarding submarine cables, to which the group contributes offshore survey and cable-laying services.
