Inquests have been formally opened into the deaths of two Cleveland Police officers killed in a high-speed collision on the A66 in Middlesbrough, as the wider investigation into the incident continues. The proceedings at Teesside Coroner’s Court identified the deceased as 37-year-old PC Matthew Blades and 38-year-old PC Tom Clough, who died following the crash on August 22, 2026.
