Infineon Analysts Diverge on Price Targets While Chipmaker Plots AI Roadmap

Infineon rose 2.1% pre-market on ASML's strong results, but Aletheia raised its target to 100 EUR while TD Cowen cut to 60 EUR. Q4 results are due Nov 10.

Infineon shares picked up 2.1% in pre-market trading, drawing support from a strong set of results at sector peer ASML. That tailwind, however, is a read-across on the semiconductor backdrop rather than a fresh signal on Infineon's own revenue or earnings — and it sits alongside a decidedly more cautious piece of analyst housekeeping.

Two Buy Ratings, Two Opposite Directions

On Monday, Aletheia Capital Limited lifted its price target on the stock to 100 EUR from 90 EUR, according to media reports, while reaffirming its buy recommendation. TD Cowen moved the other way the same day, trimming its target to 60 EUR from 72 EUR and likewise keeping its buy call intact.

The shared "buy" label masks a wide gap in expectations. Investors should treat the two recommendations and their respective targets as separate judgments rather than a single consensus view — neither a common valuation assumption nor a unified forecast for the next earnings release can be inferred from them. The split also means the ASML-driven sector momentum does not erase the more restrained assessment from TD Cowen, just as the cut does not amount to a retreat from the positive rating.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Infineon?

Available Products, Not Just Promises

Operationally, Infineon expanded its PSOC Control family on Monday with the PSC3M/P6 microcontrollers. The chips target motor control and power conversion applications, supporting up to four brushless DC motors, and the company describes them as available now. The distinction matters: this is a shipping product rather than a forward-looking announcement, though no financial contribution has been quantified. The parts also carry post-quantum cryptography compliance, per company statements.

Those devices dovetail with the themes Infineon intends to showcase at electronica, announced on October 14, which runs from November 10 to 13 in Munich. The company plans to present solutions and customer examples for Physical AI, with robotics, mobility and AI infrastructure at the center. The value for investors lies chiefly in those customer examples, which should demonstrate how the technology is embedded in real applications — the announcement itself carries no new financial guidance.

November 10 Is the Real Test

Infineon is scheduled to report fourth-quarter and full-year 2026 results on November 10. That date will carry more weight for the fundamental picture than any sector impulse borrowed from ASML or the divergent target revisions.

Until then, concrete product news and the promised customer demonstrations sit opposite a lowered price marker. What Infineon says about its economic trajectory on results day will be the deciding input — the pre-market advance signals sector support, but it does not substitute for that company-specific checkpoint.
