XRP changed hands at $1.46 on Friday, down 2.3% on the day, as traders weighed a pair of competing forces: a broad risk-on impulse from softening US Treasury yields, and the imminent arrival of a listed vehicle built around the token itself.

The pullback marks a pause after a recovery stretch that had lifted the asset above its 50-day moving average of $1.39. At Thursday's levels, XRP was trading roughly 6.8% above that line, a cushion that has since narrowed. Price action continues to track wider market liquidity more than any single catalyst, with the token still range-bound below its earlier highs for the year.

Yields Ease, Leverage Returns

The macro backdrop turned friendlier as US government bond yields retreated, giving risk assets room to breathe. In derivatives markets, funding rates climbed noticeably — a sign that speculative conviction is creeping back across crypto. Bitcoin and Ethereum joined the move, with traders rebuilding leveraged long positions ahead of upcoming US labor market data.

That tide has done more for XRP's near-term steadiness than any company-specific news. Even so, regulated investment products continue to draw steady, if unspectacular, demand. US spot XRP ETFs recorded net inflows of $4.1 million on Thursday, a modest figure that nonetheless fits a more settled institutional picture. Cumulative inflows into the US funds have now reached just under $1.8 billion since their launch.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?

Evernorth Clears Its Final Hurdle

The week's headline development came from the corporate side. Shareholders of Armada Acquisition Corp. II approved the merger with Evernorth on Wednesday, clearing the way for the deal to close on October 7. Trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker XRPN is slated to begin October 8, giving the market its first listed company anchored primarily to this crypto asset.

Evernorth expects to hold roughly 473 million XRP on its books at completion, alongside about $300 million in gross cash before transaction costs. Combined with contributed holdings, the total financing package exceeds $1 billion, raised largely through private placements and convertible bond issuance. Management has outlined yield, ecosystem and capital markets strategies aimed at steadily increasing holdings per share. Completion remains contingent on satisfying the remaining listing conditions.

Observers caution that the listing itself won't generate an automatic bid in spot markets. Because the tokens were contributed to the structure beforehand, a fresh buying impulse would only materialize if management deploys its cash for later purchases. The model also carries business risk: balance sheet quality stays tightly tethered to the token's price swings, and the company has flagged potential valuation writedowns alongside the usual demands of maintaining a public listing.

Brazil Pilot and a Stolen-Token Dilemma

Operationally, Ripple and CSD BR are preparing to mirror shares of Brazilian bank BTG Pactual's investment funds on the XRP Ledger. The arrangement serves documentation and audit purposes, while official ownership and settlement records remain within CSD BR's systems — a ledger-based verification project rather than direct purchases of the crypto asset.

The network's decentralized governance rules also drew scrutiny after a security breach at crypto exchange Bitget. According to media reports, the attacker moved stolen tokens worth roughly $83 million, with about $75 million of that sitting in accounts that Ripple cannot freeze under the XRP Ledger's protocol rules.

For investors, attention now shifts to how the newly created corporate wrapper performs in regulated markets starting next week — and whether ETF demand and macro tailwinds can carry the token past the range that has contained it.
