Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain countries with Council Decision 2024/383 concerning restrictive measures in view of activities undermining the stability and political transition of Sudan

BRUSSELS, 21 February 2024 / PRN Africa / -- On 22 January 2024, the Council adopted Council Decision (CFSP) 2024/3831.

The Council has decided that six entities should be included in the Annex to Decision (CFSP) 2023/2135.

The candidate countries North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Republic of Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina2 and Georgia, the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, as well as Armenia align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
